I sure do appreciate you’re huntin videos. I just finished watching a Western Hunter video and their is a stark contrast in content. Those Sissy La La’s are talking about their struggles bear huntin while they ride 2 track roads on quads through a whole mountain range spotting a dozen bear a day and still not able to close the gap. Geared up to the 9’s, wearing gators as the step off their quads to stroll through dry grassy prairies. Camo fits so fresh out of the package you can see the sun beam off every new thread and stitch. Not a speck of dirt under their fingernails. I felt lighter in the loafers just watching it. Please do not stop making your videos.

How LEGENDS are born: Brian Call, a unique and unequaled Outdoorsman, shot all his trophy-sized bears in the heart at more than 3/4 of a mile, using only his voice called in his numerous Monark elk to spear throwing range and ran up steep mountains without hesitation or breaking a sweat to chase down his Boone and Crockett mule deer trophies. He is known to smell his next wild game upland bird meal at over 1/2 mile and quickly and quietly stalk to slingshot range always dispatching same with head shot accuracy. Others try to equal his hunting prowess, but none succeed. Upon his departure from the mountains, forests and streams Brian's headstone will simply state: The Best There Was . . .
Can I write your memoir? 😉

That's crazy you guys talk about how being away re-lights that spark and also makes you appreciate everything more. I've noticed this in the past but never put much thought into it. Spent 17 days on the mountain by myself about 5 years ago. And honestly if you had offered me another week I probably would have passed and went home.
    It's pretty lonely by yourself...
Add a hunting partner and staying longer I would volunteer. Something about that solitude that gnaws at you and chips away at your armor.
    Great story so far👍

Thanks for turning me on to this book. Love the story and the history. Hey along similar lines check out “Under the Comanche Moon” and “The Apache Wars”. Awesome books that reflect the history of the west.

Brian, I’ve enjoyed listening to this series and love that history and time period! Just staying alive was the hardest and most important thing to do, plus not know what was around the next corner. We have it so easy in today’s society and we really don’t have that fear and that grit as most of the folks did back then, they were tough and they had to be! Thanks

I thought this idea of reading a book was lame. I got hooked watching part4 and had to start from the beginning. Lol. Great read and explaining...

That’s cool! I kinda thought the same thing-kinda lame. But it’s actually kinda fun and it’s a nice way to fill the gap when we’re out hunting for two weeks at a time. But I also think it’s important stuff as well-our U.S. education system has not been teaching our young people history. If we can share a book (every now and then) with a little U.S. history in it, perhaps we can open the minds of people who take for granted the freedoms we have today and who judge our ancestors by today’s standards rather than within the confines of the past.

Not fun fact Frenchmen Henry DuPont got rich selling guns to the Indians and anyone with the money. Same DuPont family that made gun powder and later paint and chemicals ☹️

I actually think he could tell by smell, which tribe he was dealing with. In Vietnam, they said they could tell when Americans were close because US GI smelled like rotting meat.
Reading books written by native Americans, I sometimes come across methods used, distinct to the tribe on how they'd smoke their meat. Making an insect repellent out of bear grease.
    Diet makes the B O.

    A man named Lyle Chamberlain
    Help out by mosby Montana..
    Cat Creek oil field.....
You wouldn't understand how many books he has and the law library and how he's a direct descendant of liver-eating Johnson the first governor of Montana....
I don't think he likes having many people come out and visit
    We are getting OLDER.....
There's a lot of the history you'll never get ahold of
