  • New for 2023, the R250 continues Robalo’s tradition of providing lots of functionality for fishing and family watersports - for a reasonable price. She falls nicely between the builder’s twin-engine R272 and the single-engine R230. She can be powered by a single outboard or twins, giving buyers an option that they don’t have with the larger or smaller boats.

    I have the 246 Cayman. The filler deck up front makes for a huge fishing deck. Thanks for showing the same here on this boat. I think I will be upgrading. 👍

    Wow. fully loaded test wt of 8,500 lbs. Ok. Only 400 max hp? An average powered CC or any style in this range NEEDS to have just over 50% of the weight in Horsepower. If not the boat will barely hit 40 mph and fuel MPG will suffer. So, in this case; 400 hp for an 8500 loaded boat. that is under half the HP for the weight of the loaded boat in pounds. This boat needs 500 HP (2x250 yamaha v6) to get all that weight going to get near 50 mph(maybe 55). You want your boat of this size to BE Able to go 50 or may be 55. But, this way you can cruise at 35 to 40 with much less stress than running at 5000 rpms to go 38 to 40 with the 150 or 200 yams. For some reason mfgrs keep the power just under what the boat needs, until you get to a cig or fountain style hull. Then it is sky's the limit 2,3,4,5,6 outboards, HP is 100% of the loaded vessel weight. Or more. 10,000 lb boats running 1200 HP or more. Just saying, Get the CC class boats the HP they need to run a solid 50 to 55 mph WOT so they can cruise easily and 35 to 40, and increase mpg.

    Planed in 6.2 seconds, hit 20mph in 7.4 seconds but can’t maintain plane under 22.6mph-something seems off here. Volume vs gallons of floor fish boxes seems off, and the 50gallon fish boxes in the bow are listed at 25 gallons from Robalo. This review is not reliable.

    Nice boat, but $173,000 is outrageous!!!!! I make a good living (180,000k annual) and I own a million dollar home, and I can't even come close to affording a 173k boat. Who in the hell is buying this stuff?

      Downsize your house, and the boat will be no problem. 180K is not enough for a 1M home, plus other things like occasional vacations and possibly paying for some college. Not by a mile.

    What's the difference between the Explorer series cc's and the regular cc series?

    • @portugal1984
      @portugal1984 10 місяців тому

      Explorer series has a fixed back bench. If you are doing more fishing than cruising, do not go for the explorer series (my opinion)

      The ex is more for family. Takes away a lot of the rear fishing ability but still a very fish able boat. Just depends if you fish more or not.
