So good! this explains the issues i'm having to a Tee. I'm a 3 handicap and do exactly what Q described. Standing up to shallow the club. I'm a tall guy 6'4 and have struggled to reach the ball. Now I know why.
Glad it helped!
Thanks. That is the best explanation and demonstration I have seen about the importance of not standing up in the golf swing.
Very welcome!
Thanks guys I know I have this problem. I will go to range and work on it. You guys have the best lessons on UA-cam.
Our pleasure!
Excellent video - thank you!
You are welcome!
Do also forward press with wedges?
I needed this, thanks gents 🙏
No problem 👍
It's like you have seen my swing. This video makes a lot of sense.........now if I can just stop coming out of posture and standing up.........
Hope it helps!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
sweet!!
Thanks!
Hi Clay - any suggestions for when you have made some of these changes and are pushing the ball to the right? I feel like I'm compressing the ball well but the club face is too open at impact.
Close club face
Standing up is a symptom of something else. Don’t you think it happens, because of casting the club at the top? You have to stand up, because of the early release. Otherwise, you will hit it fat due to the fact that you have increased the swing length by casting.
I love Clay but I'm going to disagree. If your butt is moving toward ball, early extension, at all then you're losing out. AOA is higher, efficiency of the strike is lower than can be, forward shaft lean not there, spend the time and get it fixed.
You lose energy standing up. Plain and simple. Adding loft can happen either way. Loft is tempo, and what your wrists are doing at impact. Long story short. If you're going to hit balls on the range, ingrain staying down through the ball and get compact. If you're a right handed golfer swing to the right and have your hands exit left.....as fast as possible.
