There are better ways to use points to goto Japan. You can transfer to British Airways and book JAL business class for under 100k one way. Aeroplan is a good transfer partner as well.

So....I use a credit card which i earn points. They charge me to use the points/transfer the points? So does it pay to transfer points all at once to avoid transfer fees? Is there a flat fee to transfer points? Also, everytime i try to book a flight before i add all my information the price changes or leaves the cart...how dovyou have time to hold your cart while you are waiting for point transfers? Do you do it ahead of time? Thanks.

Good day! I booked for the Thailand trip. I'm very excited!!!😭👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤗... I don't have sky miles or point, that I know of...if I have not earned them, is there another way to get good tickets? I heard Google flights can be good? Thought?
AYYYYYEEE! Yassss! I’m excited for you. Ok so I always check my credit card companies to see if they do any points to miles conversions. So start there. Then I also check Google flights and then go directly to the carrier from there. I also set up accounts with each airline that I fly (so i have accounts with Eithad, British Airways, American, Delta, United and Emirates). If you have accounts with any of them be sure to check to see if you have built up any miles. The other thing i do is look up one way flights. Sometimes you can find them for cheap that way. If you want a video on that I can do that as well just to show you visually! 🥳🥳🙏🏽

Virgin Atlantic is the airline I use most of all and I've purchased flights using points. The cash element (for taxes, fees & carrier surcharges) is a lot higher (usually £900+ round trip in Upper Class from UK to USA or Caribbean), though the points required is considerably lower.
I can only presume Delta incorporates the taxes, fees & surcharges into the points fare, which I would prefer.
I wish I had seen this before we booked for Christmas back in March
