Here we "create" a sample travel itinerary that can be used for your Schengen Visa application.
This 15-day travel itinerary focuses on the different cities of Switzerland, including Zurich, Interlaken, Lucerne, Geneva, etc. This itinerary also details the activities that you can do in each of the places mentioned as well as sample accommodations and accommodation details that should be included in a travel itinerary.

If you'll be going to other Schengen countries you'll have to add those in your travel itinerary. Make sure to also include the mode of transportation that you'll be using to get there.

If you will be traveling around the Schengen Area, it is normal to book several hotels especially if you'll be traveling from one country to another.
I think it is a red flag if you will travel back to a hotel in Zürich if you spent the day in Paris.

You can create an itinerary in Microsoft Word or Google Docs, print, and submit together with your application.

I'm applying for irish visa for short stay, visit friend. My accommodation and travel plan is the same po right? What if i immediately leave the airport and city on the first day, what will i put in the accommodation section... day: 1, city: Dublin, activity: arrival at dublin airport, accommodation: ???
Your travel plan can include your accommodation's name, address,and other contact details.
There should be an accommodation included even for day 1 because you'll definitely have to sleep somewhere for the night, even if it's not in the Dublin as per your example.
You can include in your activity: travel to accommodation in City X.

Hi Lea!
You can book directly with the airline of your choice. Instead of paying the whole fare, they have a "hold the fare" option wherein they reserve the seat for you for 10-20 USD for 2-3 days.
Alternatively, you can call their ticket reservations hotline and reserve a seat for free (Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines) or use the "pay at a local office" option in the Emirates website. In both cases, you'll get a reservation for free.
You may also book the services of 3rd-party companies on Facebook and pay around 800 PHP. I'd recommend m.facebook.com/jenieveetravels/
Do check with the Belgian Embassy if they need a verifiable ticket reservation or just a flight itinerary. If it's a flight itinerary, you can go to Google flights and screen grab the flight you prefer.

Yes, in some countries like Finland and Denmark, a visa applicant is required to have their own bank statement even if sponsored or invited by a family member

For a visit visa, an itinerary is not required. You can include a weekly itinerary of places you plan to go to or things you plan to do
Example:
Jan. 1 prepare and celebrate the New Year with my girlfriend
Jan. 2-9 we plan to stay at home and enjoy each other's company

Booking one hotel is fine especially if the day trips are only an hour or two away from your accommodation.

My wife is living in Thailand, and she’s planning on meeting me in Europe. I am from the United States and can travel to Europe on only my passport, but my wife for me to apply for a Schengen VISA. When it comes to providing a travel itinerary, proof of accommodations, and proof of inbound and outbound flight, how do we go about doing that without actually purchasing those first in case the visa gets denied?
For the travel itinerary, accommodations, and flights, you and your wife will only need reservations (mostly with free cancellations)

I have applied for tourist visa for spain but also got invitation from my brother and I'll stay at his place..I have applied for 3 months bcz invitation letter is also for 3 months..now is it necessary to make itinerary??and which things I should mention in my cover letter that I'll stay at my brother place and will visit the country wirh him as I'm his guest??
For visits, the itinerary is not mandatory. Also, it would be best tick "visit" as well since you have an invitation letter as tourism alone might be construed as misrepresenting your travel purpose.
Indicate in your cover letter that you're staying with your sibling and include his residence permit in Spain and apartment contract, if applicable

Depending on your purpose and travel itinerary, you can apply for a single, double, or multiple- entry visa.

If the inviting person, indicated you'll be visiting other countries and cities, it would be best to create a proposed itinerary and booked accommodations. The accommodations can be booked via booking.com; you can choose the pay later/pay at the property option.

Best to have a separate travel itinerary, you can mention in your cover letter that you've written your detailed travel plans in your itinerary.
Though a detailed itinerary isn't a requirement for a visit visa.
If you'll be applying for a tourist visa though, the itinerary is a must.

If you'd like to include a 3-month long itinerary, best to have day trips on weekends if your sponsor has work on weekdays.
If you'll be traveling to other Schengen countries, you'll have to include the booked accommodations with your application and the details in your travel itinerary.

1. Generally, your cover letter explains the circumstances that won't be found in the application form. Think of it as your spiel to convince the embassy to approve your application. Your reason for traveling and choosing the country and your reason to return to the country after your travel.
2. Yes. You can include the itinerary within the cover letter especially if it's a short trip (3-5 days). For longer itineraries, it would be better to have it as a standalone document.

Omg... the intinerary we prepared for my friend visiting Belgium was a lot more detailed than that and they refused the visa for the sole reason of providing a travel program that is lacking in details !!! Did you really get a positive response with such a simple one-line entry comment for each day of travel ???
Yup, that's what I submitted for my 2019 application with Switzerland (coming from the Philippines). I have included copies of all accommodation (booked via Booking.com) and tours (not yet booked) that I would be taking as well.
Also, if you think the visa was unfairly refused, you can refute the decision and file an appeal with the embassy.

When to lodge - are you from the Philippines? If yes, the Greek Embassy allows applicants to lodge an application at least a month before the travel dates. If no, you can Lodge your application 6 months to 15 working days from your intended travel dates, so June would be a good time.
Prepare a travel itinerary first, then, reserve flights a day before your biometrics/submission of documents.
I haven't tried Scoot in my travels as I prefer a full-service airline when traveling huge distances.

Requirements for the Schengen Visa are basically the same within the Schengen Area.

Nope. Unless it's explicit in the countries' checklist that you need to provide one, don't include it on your application.
I've encountered one individual who received a visa refusal and the reason was the additional documentation given by the applicant was for a long stay visa (NBI clearance, birth certificate, Cenomar).

Like in this video, your booking in Zurich Youth Hostel is from Sept 1-3, and the booking for Luzern Youth Hostel is from Sept 3-6?

Yes, your bookings would "overlap". Usually, check-out will be at 12 noon and check-in will be at 2 or 3 PM. That would mean you have a leeway of 2-3 hours in between hotels.

An itinerary is not a mandatory requirement for a visit visa.
Nonetheless, I use a combination of blogs, travel planners (TripHobo, Viator, TripAdvisor) for my own itineraries.
