You would have seen Dimash act if you had watched the official music video of "The Story of One Sky." He had millions of us in tears. He also does great acting jobs in a several other music videos: "Okay," "Love of Tired Swans," and "Golden" come to mind. It is the rare ability to not only able to identify any note given, but be able to recreate it by singing it dead on accurate. This song was composed by Igor Krutoy, the guy at the piano. If you see any Dimash performance and Igor is at the piano, Igor composed it. Did you notice how long he held that last note? Dimash is a master at not only singing whatever note given, but also becomes the song and make you FEEL the emotion of the song. Giving you the total emersion of the song/experience. I was at his last solo concert in Dusseldorf, Germany, this past November, and it was the most awesome 3 hours of my life. YES! Total vocal frequency vibration through my entire body and total emotional emersion from Dimash. I walked out of the concert completely HAPPY!

It isn't a matter of confidence for Dimash. He is humble but immerses himself in what he sings. He reviews all his concerts and performances to see where he could improve. Plus, he still does vocal training for 3-4 hours every day, more if he has a concert to prepare for, and talks as little as possible before. His friends and colleagues say that he is his own toughest critic. It's called absolute pitch. His grandparents and piano teacher realized it when he was three. There is a compilation of videos called "The Ultimate Dimash Guide". It begins when He was a child and contains interviews with a variety of people who are in some way connected to his life, including interviews with Dimash himself. You could learn so much about who Dimash is when he is not performing.

Another great reaction. You make me laugh a little too. You’re a pretty funny dude. I don’t know anything about Dimash’s love life. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but I think I’ve read that he’s just putting it off for the time being. He’s only 30. And as far as I know, he guards his private life pretty closely (which is perfectly reasonable). I think he’d be a terrific actor. If you haven’t already watched his “Ikanaide” studio performance, you can get an idea.

Yes he is confident. However, never once in any interview have I ever heard him take credit for his talent. I have heard him give credit first to God, then to his grandparents, parents, teachers and fans, but never himself. When fans worried about how hard he was working he responded by telling fans not to worry about him, but just enjoy. He is very warm and kind to his fans.

You are correct, Sir! Dimash was born with the gift of "Absolute Pitch". His grandmother discovered this when Dimash was a toddler. She started taking him to signing lessons so that his gift would grow to its fullest. At the age of 5 Dimash was already singing in front of an audience.

This was a cover of Igor Krutoy's song premiered in 1994 or so by the great and only ALLA PUGACHEVA, a storm of passion on the stages, the Prima donna of Russia who standed her gound against Putin about the Russian invasion to Ukraine. They performed at the "A gift for Alla." concert for the anniversary of Alla Pugacheva in Moscow

Maestro Igor Krutoy (piano) and Dimash presented the song first on Alla Pugachova's 70th birthday on April 2019. She is a famous singer in Russia. The event took place in the Crocus City Hall in Moscow.
Maestro Krutoy composed this song 28 years ago for Alla Pugacheva. Valerya Gorbacheva wrote the beautiful words. Now Igor and Dimash have refreshed the song and Dimash made it his song, incomparably beautiful. The interpretation is completely different from the original. I melt away every time I hear the song.

Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship.

I stumbled across a very young Dimash in 2016, there was very little about him at the time, but my heart was stolen. After The Singer in 2017, I never go a day without listening to one of his pieces. His presence has healed an extremely wounded place in my mind and spirit. I love this song so very much! Thank you!

For sure Dimash is the voice of the century. A 6-octave range is not something seen in recent times to the point of hitting notes off the piano on the top side. Many artists are a solid 2-3 octaves and do very well professionally. To do twice that range skillfully and cleanly and still be growing is not to be considered less than what he is, the voice of the century whether you enjoy his music or not. Our fortune to witness this and be enjoying his work. IMO, because I believe it will encourage singers after him to work to this level or better. Music can only get better from here on.

Krutoy's songs have taken a worthy place in the repertoire of such pop stars as Irina Allegrova (more than 40 songs, including “I will part the clouds with my hands”), Valery Leontiev (more than 20), Laima Vaikule (including “ Chestnut Branch, which they sang in a duet), Alexander Buinov (more than 30) and Alla Pugacheva (“LOVE LIKE a DREAM”, “Ah, lieutenant”, etc.).

no one can do like him.
Vocal coaches say he is the master of a high mixed voice.
Dimash does have perfect pitch. He was a toddler when he informed his Mama/Grandmother
her piano needed tuning and that is when she began making arrangements for him to be in the greatest conservatory of music for youth that Kazakhstan has.
He entered that music school at age 4 and remained through HS graduation.
He dedicated 6 hours of private training and rehearsal (3 to vocals and 3 to instruments above his school training.
When Igor Krutoy is at the piano he always composed the song that Dimash is singing. Love is Like a Dream was composed in 1994 the year Dimash was born. Igor came out of retirement after hearing Dimash sang Sinful Passion in 2018, just to compose songs For Dimash. The arrangment of this song was very different from the original song and Dimash sang it perfectly.

"Perfect pitch" doesn't mean "sings perfectly in tune". It means "is able to identify notes by ear".
Dimash has a mistress, a very demanding mistress -- Music. He has devoted his life to Her. He's just too wrapped up in Her to have time or energy for anything else. I think he had his heart broken by a girl when he was very young, but realized that music would never reject or desert him if he was true to Her.
By the way, when he was 5, he told his grandparents (both musicians) that their piano was broken. They tried it and didn't hear anything off, but he insisted it wasn't right. They called the piano tuner to check it. He said it was so slightly off that he couldn't believe the kid could hear it. They had his hearing tested, and it turned out he has "absolute pitch," that's one better than perfect pitch. His grandmother took him to the finest music academy in Kazahkstan, where they accepted him as a student, the youngest ever. The rest is history.
