1. Alliteration : repeated consonant sound in the beginning of words in same line
2. Metaphor : comparison between two things without using 'like', 'as', etc.
3. Similie : opposite of metaphor i.e. compares word by using 'like', 'as', etc.
4. Repetition : when same word/phrase is repeated
5. Onomatopoeia : sound words [eg.- pop, crackle, buzz, thud, snorr]
6. Assonance : two or more words having same vowel sound within a sentence
7. Consonance : opposite of assonance i.e. two or more words having same consonant sound within a sentence

13. Imagery : written in such a way which creates an imaginary picture in mind after reading
14. Epiphora : Two consecutive lines ending with same word
15. Symploce : Two consecutive lines starting and ending with same word

Alliteration - two words same in a sentence or a line of poem (mickey Mouse / tiny tan )
Metaphor- comparison without using like and as ( time is money)
Simile - comparison using like and as
Repetition- repetition of words in a phrase or repeated ( smile smile and smile)
Onomatopoeia- a word that sounds like the sound it makes (pop, crack, buzz)
Assonance- when a vowel sound repeated in word of a phrase / sentence of a poem (on a proud round cloud in white high night)
Consonance- it is also like assonance, but here consonants are near or together and repetitive (blank and think, Mike likes his new bike)
Oxymoron- In oxymoron two contradictory ideas are put together side bt side or in a sentence to create a good effect. (Waking sleep, loving hate, living dead)
Hyperbole- an international and extreme exaggeration for emphasis or effect (this book weighs a ton)
Personification- when an inanimate object or abstract image is given human qualities or abilities it is a poetic device in which an animal, idea or thing is given human characteristics (trees sprinting, my phone is not cooperating with me today, my phone is dead)
