Yeah, that's why sometimes it can be better to become successful as an adult instead of as a child or as a teenager and be more of a ''late bloomer'' to success, as an actor. Actors like like Jack Nicholson, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, Harrison Ford, Johnny Depp, Steve Carell, Chris Pratt, Jeremy Renner, Alan Rickman, Samuel L. Jackson, Jon Hamm, Naomi Watts, Jessica Chastain, Joe Manganiello, Dwayne''The Rock'' Johnson(Johnson was already successful as a wrestler prior to getting into acting but his success as an actor didn't really start to happen for him until later on in life), Bryan Cranston, Sylvester Stallone, Christopher Waltz, Gene Hackman, Michael Caine, Kathy Bates, Burt Reynolds, Viola Davis, Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, Hugh Jackman, Amy Adams and Gerard Butler didn't become successful as actors until they were in their 30s, 40s and even 50s, in the case of of Christopher Waltz and Morgan Freeman-who started to hit his stride as an actor in his early 50s. Macaulay Culkin, like Ben Affleck, Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman, Elijah Wood, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jennifer Connelly, Anna Paquin, Warwick Davis, Kurt Russell, Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence, Scarlet Johansson, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Hailee Steinfeld and Jodie Foster, was able to navigate that maze of fame and stardom as a child actor and came out the other end relatively unscathed and normal but then there are all of the other child actors who didn't-Corey Fieldman, Corey Haim, Dana Plato, Todd Bridges, Brad Renfro, Edward Furlong, Lindsay Lohan, Shia Labeouf, River Phoenix, etc,.
DISCO-INFERNO-70 it was actually his own decision to only play in smaller independent movies and basically leave Hollywood behind. He could have had some pretty big gigs. For example, he repeatedly turned down a leading role in the Big Bang Theory (he was supposed to be one of the 4 nerds) and he doesn’t even regret it in spite of the show’s huge success. He doesn’t need nor seek more fame or money or stardom. It would only disturb the peace he has found.
Best Christmas movie(s) ever. Back in the 90’s when they’d show home alone 1/2 on cable tv during the Christmas season, was so awesome. That was a huge part of Christmas leadup in the 90’s for kids and had a huge impact.

Tια he use to look a lot older and a lot worse caulkin went from a huge downfall to a huge redemption but it’s good to see him bounce back and overcome those demons
Kalevipoeg he looks young because he doesn’t see much sun like Nicole Kidman , slip slop slap in sunscreen folks, I just wish I had cared more for my big toe buffalo soldiers
Little to no stress since he's been set since he was a wee lad.
What he’s trying to explain to joe rogan is growing up the way he did and having a acting job and being a celebrity at that age was normal to him just like growing up normal is normal to us . IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE .
Thanks saved me 8mins
Mac should guest star on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia!!
Central Coast Cinema Frank would probably whip him with the whip and try to get him to say the N word. Sounds so brilliant that we should get this to happen!
I like that show. Charlie and Danny Devito’s character are funny af, but i like the whole cast
Yess!
Why the show has taken a huge downfall this last season. Shitty writing forced jokes
My mind is blown I never in my life would’ve thought he’d be so well spoken and professional that blew my mind

Joe slowly realizing he's never been called once for comedy advice.
Joe "Stop right there" Rogan
Joe "Open borders are a human right" Rogan.
Idealism is great until you remember half the world hasn't evolved or advanced one inch in 3000 years
lmao, the exact moment i read that Joe said in the video "stop right there"
MrSmokeytehbear prolly bc greedy fucks horde ALL the money
Joe "hair club for men" Rogan
Macaulay is such a confident, intelligent, man. Enjoyed this interview, as always. Thanks Joe.
What a brilliant , emotionally intelligent young man.
Glad that he is now coming back into movies and tv shows, looking forward to seeing him again!
He seems like a genuinely delightful person.
I'm sure he would kick a muslim upside the head,he's my hero.

Mac is one of the rare individuals that achieved enormous success, wealth, and celebrity at a very young age that became self-aware and humble.
I love the awkward part at 5:39
Mac: black lung joke
Joe: Too soon bro. Too soon.

JaVochi Joe the good son was fucked up lol cant get over that seen with him at the end on the rocks
That crossbow though...
Hell yea
Crazy terrible hahaha
They filmed the ending at a cliff on the north shore of Lake Superior not to far from me.
Wow, never heard his voice as an adult before. Seems level headed and sincere. Also, watched HA again over Christmas and really enjoyed the movie after so many years. Best to him.
I asked my 3 year old, what movie was this guy in. His answer: Home Alone
Mission accomplished
good parenting
I've always liked Macaulay. He's a really grounded guy considering his status, and I enjoy his open and honest energy. I hope Joe has him back on the podcast in the near future.
And to think that the "gutter press" wrote him off as some kind of crazy, messed up dude. He is very intelligent, bright, articulate and seemingly normal.
Then what was that photo of him in 2010 where he look gaunt? I’m surprised he’s actually normal and intelligent and not crazy.
I saw his first interview & i agree with u..he's really intelligent.,the way he conversed to the interviewer as if he was an adult. He's very mature in his age.
I knew he was! He wasn’t worried about Hollywood after he became an adult.
@@scifigrl92 photo? lmao a photo. you the wet dream of drama buxz
And to think that the “JRE experience” made him come across as intelligent, bright, and articulate. He is a crazy, messed up dude.
I really like him still.. I love his brother on the HBO show Succession.
Whatever people want to say about Macaulay he's a real one that conquered his demons. Good for him
I wonder if he still has nightmares about Joe Peschi
Joe peschi should definitely be the one having nightmares about him lmao
Did you see the skit he did with them in recent years? They were scared to death Kevin was coming after them as an adult.
Definitely. We all have.
Uncle Buck. I can still see his face when Buck makes him that giant pancake for his birthday.
Whats your record for most questions asked?

UB: *mimicking miles shock* I’m your uncle
Miles: we have an uncle??
My Opinion Doesn’t Matter: There are quite a lot of great moments in that movie. A lot of them revolve around that kid and Buck. A great movie, overall and one of my absolute favorites.
Joe “thats the thing about the human mind” Rogan
"wow"
Joe “everything is weird” Rogan
Joe "have you ever had DMT for breakfast?" Rogan
Joe “that has a powerful effect on people” *ad* Rogan
Rogan joe just wants to trip on dmt so bad u can just see his face get sweaty thinking about it
I’m so glad he’s in a good place now compared to where he was before.
WOW, he's already 38? He seems pretty well adjusted for having been put through the Hollywood grinder.
It's a shame that once these guys become older the film industry no longer wants anything to do with them.
DISCO-INFERNO-70 the puberty odds are highly stacked against them
Yeah, that's why sometimes it can be better to become successful as an adult instead of as a child or as a teenager and be more of a ''late bloomer'' to success, as an actor.
Most of the time that want nothing to do with Hollywood after growing up in it either tho
Depression Beard don’t give up the fight Mac, Uncle Buck is your best role dude...with the great Candyman
wow i never knew how charismatic and nice the macauly of today really is! hope to see him again in some big movies
This guy looks like an intern at Apple. I would never think he was a heavy drug user in his late 30’s. He’s looking good
He was hilarious in Uncle Buck with John Candy. A natural performer. He’s come such a long way and has stayed grounded, so great to see!
Did you ever see The Good Son? He played an incredible villain, abd at such a young age
Macaulay “Kinda thing” Culkin
I literally just seen this comment and he said "kinda thing " at the same moment lol
@@Grekkenn same
Despite whatever hes been through, hes set for life, hes loveable and hes definitely a unique character.
He should do a lost In Manhattans movie but this time; just high and lost
LOL
Fredy Sandoval lol!!!
Davis I heard about that, if he makes it he should at least have him do an appearance in the movie.
Orisni $1,000,000 says Culkin has a cameo. Knowing Reynolds, yeah. He'll have a cameo.
And he'll be chased around by the "lit bandits"
My fav films of his are:
- Home Alone
- Home Alone 2
- Page Master
- My Girl
Page Master was definitely my favorite. I absolutely loved the transition to real life --> animation --> real life. I'm watching that tonight.
Best Christmas movie(s) ever. Back in the 90’s when they’d show home alone 1/2 on cable tv during the Christmas season, was so awesome. That was a huge part of Christmas leadup in the 90’s for kids and had a huge impact.
I never saw My Girl till quite recently and as a grown man I found CENSORED very upsetting. Anna really sold that whole movie. Love the pair of them.
It's really a great film. Dan Aykroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis were great in it. The writing was wonderful and Anna Chlumsky was, too.
It was like a cartoon death of mufasa for me kids never die in movies what hell ? I waited like mufasa to come back him too didn’t believe it.
Spoiler alert, maybe? Ffs
@@teocantsleep4611 Fair enough. Edited. Sorry.
@@firekind1980 That's alright. I was a bit upset because I left it unfinished. Thanks 👍
He was great in this interview. They should be a interviewing team. Loved it
I got to listen to this PODCAT straight through. It's REALLY REALLY good. I advise you do it.
Really happy for to see this guy doing well. On top of being a child actor he also had a douchebag for a father who controlled and overworked him (not sure if his mom was the same). Hope he continues to be happy now.
Think they stole money from him too
Yeah and they went on vacation without him TWICE!
I went to high school with a kid who worked with Macaulay on My Girl and he basically echoed everything u just said. Both of his parents were nightmares on the set.
Richie Rich was frickin amazing.
Joel D completely forgot about Richey Rich!
The best lol
My friend moved to NYC for about 3 years, and befriended Mac. He said he is extremely down to earth, and hanging out with him (although surreal) seemed quite normal. He definitely had some cool stories.
Love Macaulay. He is very real, genuine and cool
That weird moment when you realize. that the kid from home alone is the same age as you are.
Or older than him
He’s a yr older than I am.
He is 20 years older than I am.
