100th video! Why not celebrate with probably my favourite Megaman-track, next to Dr. Wily stage 1. I've waited far too long actually do a guitar cover of this (did a shitty remix a long time ago)... and it worked out pretty well, I think! I mean, the playing isn't perfect but it works for me, I've never claimed to be the world best guitarist anyway. The mix has a lot more presence than I usually have in my mixes, figured it might sound better on iPods and such... since most of my mixes have way to much low mids going in small earphones. Anyways, hope you all like it! Comment and subscribe! AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Audio and video are recorded separately. My audio recording setup:
Ibanez LTD EC-50, Ibanez RG420EG or LTD EX-50 (into)
Engl e530 tube preamp (into)
Guitar Rig Mobile audio interface (into)
Computer with Intel i5 processing and 4 Gb RAM (into)
Cubase 5 with various cabinet impulses on the effects channel for the audio tracks.
Video is recorded with a Flip Mino HD 3. Edited in Pinnacle Studio 14. - Ігри
Metal Heads never fail to get the vibe of what makes the music so fuckin brilliant. Great cover yo. Rocked dat shit man
Daaaaamn... That was just fucking A, man, can't even find words. Just plain and straight-forward awesomeness. I can't even imagine myself playing MMX while listening to some of this mystical work of music without tearing anything apart. Absolutely unreal.
Thanks! Maybe, I have been very inactive as of late, I guess life got in the way. But I miss making covers and WHEN I decide it's time again, I will look into Armored Armadillo, it's really cool!
Yo... This song is REALLY good
@DeuceStarcraft Thanks dude! Feels good to lure out those nostalgic feelings in people, it's a big part in why I do this, I want people to re-live the good stuff!
Holy Shit!! This is BEYOND EPIC!!!
awesome man !! you fire up every theme especially MegaMan !! keep it up =D
Dude.. your sounds are dead on!!! If not better! Greatness
This was by far the best cover I've heard, fucking amazing!
so gooooood. thanks for posting!! I would have never picked up a guitar if it wasn't for megaman music.
Brilliant!!
Awesome!!
Nice cover man, sounds like the OST and reminds me of my childhood. Thank you brotha.
Awesome job! You look like a young 'un from the vid. It's great to know awesome games like MMX are still getting exposure to this day. I had the original on SNES back in the day. Then again, I had almost all of the Mega Man games back then...
@iSometimesWriteMusic well This is one of my favorite megaman X themes, and your my favorite on youtube. Even professional remakes by capcom arent as good as yours. A lot of people play things on guitar, and they fuck it up. When I hear yours, I get that same exicted feeling. Thanks for your hard work. :D
congrat to your 100th upload! mine was one month ago! ;)
Oh MegaMan!
you have MegaMan fever, right? =)
very nice!
Rock On Bro!!! =)
Brutal!!
Dude great cover
I keep every single video game system I own. Now I've got a nice collection and it's always a pleasure to go back to the old good 8 or 16 bits systems.
Many people resell old console to get some cash to buy a newer...
Great job BTW and Merry Christmas to you too :D
Awesome! keep it MEGAMAN!!!
Awesomeee!!!!!
Awwwwwwwww......SOME!
freaking awesome well i listen to all kind of metal and somehow i clicked on this vid and fking faved it !!
I understand.. awesome job on the cover !
sick! \m/
you need a million views! people don't know what their missing out here!
Thanks! Glad to hear, video game music is a very good portal for the instrument, there's both simplicity and complexity to be found at it will make you a melody based player. Sure, strumming chords is just as much "playing guitar" as anything else, but there's so much more to the instrument than that. Keep rocking!
I know it's a lil off key, but you make it sound legit and your talent is superb!! Keep it up...I want more!!
cool... like it so much!
That shit was awesome bro
genia diosa, sos una grande tocando la guitarra, segui asi amiga
impressive :D
Thanks. I don't really share my backing tracks, they are unique to my video and just as important as my lead, if not more so. Creating backing tracks yourself is fun and rewarding and I recommend everybody to try for themselves, it will force out some production experience!
@iSometimesWriteMusic effin savages in this town, i'm tellin ya.
thats awesome i lsiten to all kind of metal and somehow i clicked on this vid and fking faved it !!!
Thanks! Yeah man, download and blast it all you want, I'd be honored (:
What a fuckin METAL christmas present! Keep on shredding!
That smile @00:49 'cause he nailed it.
Why does this keep happening to me? Everytime I watch a video from some guy named iSometimesWriteMusic, I shit myself. Thanks buddy.
i love this song and this megaman and i play this song in another time but u are a good player
100 videos already, damn. May many more follow. :D
you're fuckin good as it gets
this is true. As the string vibrates the pitch changes slightly. This is especially true of thinner strings. If you strike a set of 9's very hard they will sound out of tune when in fact they are not.
Very goood....
Dude, 1 word, CASTLEVANIA! please.....
OM NOM NOM NOM !!
Rhythmic playing is awesome too! Having good rhythmic sense is vital for phrasing leads anyway. The tone is achieved with a preamp called ENGL e530 which goes straight into the sound card. I simulate the cabinet with so called IRs, impulse responses that is. Also, there's some fiddling around with the tone with EQs and effects. But I'd say ENGL e530 is one of the most affordable ways for people to start "recording with hardware" - sure, pods and such are okay but analog tone wins in the end!
Megaman X es magia \,,/
nice shirt !!
It's yours!
Whaaat, how can anyone hate the original? Oh well, thanks dude!
would love to hear the original mega man x intro stage. my favorite song from the entire series. if you already did it, send a link. if not, get on it man!
You ROCK...man! LOL ~ Can I use your audio for a upcoming video? I'll give you credit with a link to this video!
@2583060 Duuuude you jinxed it, I had 0 dislikes but whenever somebody points that out some troll of course presses the dislike button just for the hell of it.. I'M BLAMING THIS ON YOU! No I'm kidding, anyways, thanks, I take it as you liked it (:
Freakin KILLER! Please, please, please may I download this and play it in my store so all my customers may bask in it's 16-bit video game metal glory? ... I'll give you bacon. :D
@MetalJody1990 Yeah Pinnacle sucks ass, but it's the only one I tried with a good noise filter (which I have to use since my camera adds a lot of noise when it's even moderately dark). But anyways, thanks (:
I don't have a choice, my guitars are all in D rather than E so every cover I do ends up 1 whole step down, a lower key that is.
you can find these and a few other tracks on the album: "Mega Man X Maverick Rising OverClocked Remix Album"
@MetalJody1990 Hahaha, actually.. it's so simple that it's genius! Never thought about it! Well, the biggest problem is on me, if I care to actually edit my stuff more. Takes a lot of time to record multiple clips and time sync everything... to me, there is a charm in a video looking just like some regular dude recorded it at home. And as for energy spent on every video, I'd much rather spend more of it on the audio recording. Video is just so secondary to me.
Sure, go ahead (:
@MetalJody1990 I searched for something of that sort inside of Adobe Premiere CS5 but couldn't find it. Tried some third party crap which didn't do the job really and added a stupid water mark. If you'd find anything like it, DO TELL ME. That would be awesome. Then I could actually edit my stuff a little more exciting, since Pinnacle becomes unstable the more effects and clips you have. If I had the option I would gladly transfer to Adobe Premiere.
i wish i still had my SNES after hearing this :
@MetalJody1990 Soon I will be so powerful that I have my own harem of slaves, MUAHAHAA.
Played in a different key... It just feels 'off'.
On it's own merit... Pretty damn awesome.
I find midi-files on the song I want to cover, I import a good one into Guitar Pro 5.0, I arrange my cover in Guitar Pro, writing drums and all that. Then I export my arranged cover from Guitar Pro into a midi-file which I import into cubase 5. There I dub my tracks with suitable VST instruments. I use Addictive Drums for the drum track. I find creating drums much easier in the environment of Guitar Pro, rather than in the piano roll in cubase. You need to have knowledge about notation, for sure
where can I find this backing track?
you rock!!
Dicks growing on testicles: manly shit right there.
@djchille Always wondered why so many people seem to have sold/given away their old consoles. I still have every single one that I've ever owned (:
Qué bonito cabello
*O*
dude may i ask you how do you make your backing tracks ? becasue i really suck at that i don't know if i'm using the wrong software or something , making gutiar and bass is easy but making the beats and sometimes other instrumentals is hard as shit to me , some i'd liek some quick tips of how you create your own :)
Awesome cover btw
Subbed
The original is one of the better mmx tracks, and now thanks to the creater we have this :)
uffffffffffffffffffffff great "la verga" I..I_

Wowww amazing arrangement !! could you send me the backing track...i will give you full credit !! if you doo :-0
REMINDS ME OF IRON MAIDEN or BRAINSTORM
@iSometimesWriteMusic
Mine was taken from me for my "cousins" use, never saw it again :'( lol. Good fucking song!
@Locklear117491 Haha, "cousins"... the usual suspects eyh! A close friend of mine lost his SNES to his cousins somehow, haha. Yeah, Spark Mandrill is awesome!
No Proper Reaction is Availible at the Moment. Please Check Back Later.
just curious, what key are you playing in? Because I've tried learning how to play Spark Mandrill's theme, but no matter what key I put my guitar in, I can never seem to reach those high notes :(
Only 993 532 to go!
Dave Mustaine Meets Megaman x
Please share the backing track :)
brother, MP3 pls ?
I certainly need to expand my lead playing, but I'm a better rhythm guitarist and multi-instrumentalist anyway. Check out my channel if you get a sec. Also what are you doing for your tone in this clip?
I made it but I don't have the project-file anymore... Sorry!
since you didn't take the bacon...can i have it? *.*
It's an LTD EC-50.
@steppo2000 Såg ut som 35 innan, hade så jädra risigt skägg, haha.
