    The copper metal is just a thin coating. A viewer told me his wore off shortly after getting it. Mine has now also worn off and while I did not notice it after a few days of testing, it clearly is wearing off now.

    Really love the looks of this lil' knife. I'll get my hands on one even though the blade steel is very random.
    And indeed, Sanrenmu makes remarkable quality knives for a very fair price.
    Thanks for the review.

      My pleasure. check out the 9305 and 9306, maybe one of those blade shapes will be better, and still have the same thin and light characteristics. Links for them are also below the video.

    Thank you staying budget for us who love knives but don’t have the money for everything but for the affordable knives that are very close as I can

      To help folks with genuinely tight budgets find quality knives that they can afford, that is my main reason for existing. I will always stay a low budget channel for at least 80%+ of the reviews I do.

    Interesting little slippy with a thumb stud! Don't see many with that combo. THanks for the review!

      I am really liking this knife a lot. I will review the thin siblings once the mail gets through - in a few months...

    Technically, a very well done review.
    Close-up photos are especially fine.

    Oh the irony of you reviewing a Gentleman's Folder. Lol. SRM continually just keeps coming up with great products. Thanks for sharing, Jake.

    I luv that term gentleman’s knife... I have seen a lot of turn of the century gentleman’s knives. Do you have any older vintage knife?

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  3 роки тому

      I own nothing vintage anymore. A couple of years ago I had to sell my personal collection.

    Nice. Unfortunately it's over 3". I like Sanrenmu. Thanks for the comprehensive review. 👍

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  3 роки тому +2

      Yeah, that happens so often with knife manufacturers. It's like they don't think of the fact that a lot of people live in places where 3" is the max length. They could just do some very minor changes and still have a great product, but instead they make a blade that is just over 4".
      A bit like only making R handed pocket clips, when often it would not be hard at all to make the knife have the clip on either side...

    Good finish but come with Emerson's disk and Benchmade's axis lock?

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  3 роки тому

      Nope, it comes as it is in the video. Sanrenmu does have some nice new axis lock models, they call it "AMBI lock" but it's the same thing.

    I have had this for a while. I love the design.
    Sadly the copper wears off withing a week. You can even rub it off with your fingers. Mine is all 'white' metal now.

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  3 роки тому

      Ahh, I was wondering if it was a coating. mine didn't rub off in my testing, but I just can't carry it every day for a week, I have too many other knives to test too. I have a sibling to this knife coming, and I will mention what you experienced in my review of that knife, thanks for letting me know.

  • @BladeWalker77

    Sir, may I ask you what do you think about SRM axis lock knives? Compared with Benchmade, there is a big difference?. Thank you.

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  3 роки тому +1

      I like them a lot. I have not had a Benchmade axis lock knife for several years (but just last month I got a Griptillian) and I would not hesitate at all to recommend the SRM axis locks. I have never had a viewer tell me that the SRM omni-springs broke, but I can find a LOT of such complaints about Benchmade, at least from a few years ago. There is not a big difference in my opinion, and if there is I might even say SRM is better, but I have not had enough Benchmade axis lock experience in the last 3 or 4 years to say it as a fact.

    Jake, Sanremnu released a new knife (End of August) it's the Sanremnu 9211, it opens with a thumb disc and has an axis lock. I order one lastnight for 19.99 USD from Amazon. I'd love to hear your review on it, it seems like a pretty interesting knife. It has a gentleman folder kind of vibe to it.

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  3 роки тому +1

      Hi, I did not know it was on Amazon, so I ordered it from AliExpress a few days ago. I am confident it will impress but it might take a couple of months before I get it. :( I should have checked it Amazon USA had it.

      @@CanadianCuttingEdge I was actually looking at a Ganzo and just before I purchased the Ganzo, I searched for Sanrenmu and it popped up and I knew I had never saw it before and figured it was a new design or something. Ill be on the look out for your review of it, let's hope it shows up quickly. Thanks for the reviews Jake. Have a great night.

    Does anyone know a knife like this, but locking? Super thin profile knife that locks?

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge

      Yes, exactly the point I was making in the video. But some, not all, other stores list it as 8Cr14MoV, that is why I emphasized that it is 8Cr13MoV and not 14.

    Nice looking knife. I like the slimness. I wish the blade went further into the hand and did not have that nasty corner sticking out.

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  3 роки тому

      I am sorry, I don't understand what you mean by the corner of the blade sticking out.

    • @mkris8653
      @mkris8653 3 роки тому

      @@CanadianCuttingEdge With the blade in the closed position the exposed blade forms a right angled corner which remains outside the handle. The knife has great lines open, slim sleek. I wish it had the same when closed. It's a nit-pick I have I'm sure.

    • @ivancho5854
      @ivancho5854 3 роки тому

      @@mkris8653 I agree. Have you seen the Sanrenmu 7065? It's similar (though lacking a thumb stud and is an all pinned construction), but the blade has no hang up points on it when folded. Good luck. 👍
