The singer's voice as you've noticed is relatively unique, his can bring a fair bit of impact and at times unexpected emotion when combined with the rest of the music. Red Cold River, follow me, Diary of Jane, Dear Agony cover most of the emotional range that forms the core of their music. I would recommend starting with any of them to continue your journey.
Great recommendation and reaction. My absolute favorite by them is "Far Away" feat. Scooter Ward, both their voices are amazing (from Aurora, which is a collection of acoustic, reimagined versions of previously released songs). But they have many great songs, among them of course, their break-through song "The Diary of Jane" from 15 years ago - I think it went platinum in the meantime (that's when I first about them too)
