These songs are really timeless, and still hold up after six decades. I love how a lot of these tunes are Motown.

Motown had so many dope acts from the '60s and onwards like The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight, Lionel Richie, The Jackson 5, etc.

Great as always. The British bands were outstanding, and the Motown stuff was great too. Marianne Faithfull had a beautiful voice in those days. "The Crying Game" is a classic -very haunting and poignant.

Type the title of any song that you like into Wikipedia, and as often as not you'll find it is a cover - sometimes of something from decades earlier, from someone nobody's heard of! (Or of course a classical piece.)

I had no idea “Always Something There” was from the 60’s - I thought it was an 80’s anthem! With a bit of research, I found it was actually first sung by Dionne Warwick in 1963, then covered by Sandie Shaw in ‘64 who brought it to #1 in the UK; then Naked Eyes brought it back to the charts in 1983, twenty years after its debut. Each rendition sounds completely different stylistically - they're all compelling in different ways and they're all worth a listen!

Most of these songs are familiar from my early years, a few years later. My mother had a collection or would listen to the radio. She would scoot me outside while she cleaned the house or after I went to bed. Distant memories from a different time. Thank you. ❤️❤️

It was written for the film (1963 I think), one of the series of comedy films (might have been the first one) starring Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau. I think the cartoon character was a spinoff from the one originally just in the title sequence of the film (the Pink Panther character of the title was a suave jewel thief, played in the film by David Niven). Enjoyable film, if you get the chance.

At 75 - some (many actually) are still my favorite, It's time also to remember Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound" on full display with the Righteous Brothers. I remember all these songs. Actually, I have them all on a USB stick in the car - - - Hmmm, think I'll take a walk "Downtown" in my small town, it's been redone over the last couple of years and revived.

Its a coincidence that songs in the 60s are turning 60 something in the 2020's

I hate to disapoint you but the House of the Rising Sun is much older that 60 years old. In fact it may be as old as 160 years. It's been kicking around since the End of the Civil War And many artists, including Woody Gutherie, Bob Dylan and Led Belly, among others, have took a stab at it. That is at least according to a video I watched here on UA-cam. This particular version of the song maybe 60 years old. But the song itself is MUCH older.
