Early on a young Graffin using a bunch of obscure words in his lyrics was cool. Sometime between no substance and process of belief it started coming off as forced and pretentious.
“ supercalifragilisticexpialidocious 1+2 equals 3 I like to psycho analyze trigonometry ahhhh ahhh ahhh I’m a socialist ahhhh ahhh I’m really smart ahhhh ahh” - every bad religion song
I thought Prison Bound was OK, you talked about SD doing so many covers and I wondered whether that album was actually all covers. No that was all originals except for a Stones cover.
I met their bass player at a record store way back. He was friends with the owner. He was there to check some of the merch. He said the point of the band was fashion and licensing the art work for products.
Yeah tell us what happened! I just read a thing about him beating someone who bought a ticket to their show, to a pulp because the guy flipped him off and said he came for music not politics. Because the idiot wouldn't shut the fuck up about Trump. I would be pissed too, if I spent my hard earned cash on some doofus to whine about politics and let his political views bleed into his career.
Social Distortion does not matter and they are quite possibly one of the worst bands ever ! Fucking Nickleback is more interesting and skillful than over rated awful Social Distortion. Every thing you said in this pod cast is spot on.
Self confesidely listened to one song and now know they suck. These guys dont know what they are talking about. They had a few good roasts but in the end they just decided to be angry about something they know nothing about.
It's too bad they didn't want to discuss the chord structure of this band's hits (a position they would back off from, realizing half of this episode is boring af). It's not enough that the chords are simple, but they're THE SAME for verse and chorus, they just turn up the guitar volume. Springsteen punk, well said.
@ your favorite band sucks Good point! Can you post a link to any band you were ever in? I'm interested to hear the musical gold that you must shit in order to have the credibility to play elitist against successful/loved musicians.
My favorite part of the video was when Tyler said calm down, just calm down for a minute, we don't have to get into it but just settle down. Anyway I found a video with live music with who Mark and Tyler were referring to sitting down singing and Tyler is beast on the guitar. Thanks for all the good content, I've almost completed 60% roughly of all your podcasts. I can't wait for the Queens of the Stone Age sucks episode coming up here soon in September. I hope Nick Oliveri is discussed and how when he was with the band they were actually decent.
Social Distortion came out of the early L.A punk scene in the same era as like Black Flag, Germs, Circle Jerks, Bad Religion ect.. you guys seem only aware of their radio hits and not the real history of the band.

Nope, not gonna listen to some wise ass child punk.
"Free Social D ticket with the purchase of every chain wallet. " That's comedy gold.
That's comedy crud clueless fuck...
Do a NOFX sucks
Oh God...do they ever suck! Hahaha!
I like that Social D song that's about bad luck and having a broken heart.
i like the one where he gets fed up and he's had enough and he's about to do something.

This actually, unironically happened at the Social Distortion concert I went to🤣 it was in Irvine, CA at a big park amphitheater.
I like this because I'm a new York snob and they destroy so many California bands 😅
This podcast is like listening to cats screw.
Thanks for listening!
I am highly curious how you are familiar with the sounds of felines fucking🤔
Like when your mom and sister fuck?
If table tennis wasn't a sport, it wouldn't be in the Olympics.
You guys should roast Bad Religion.
Generic sounding thesaurus-core pop punk.

Please, God do a "NOFX sucks" episode. I mean...they actually do suck...badly! Haha! ;-)
I second that
Third...all joking aside...N0FX really does suck.

Wow really? I'm a fan and thats disappointing
Sounds like bullshit, what fashion, a tank top wife beater?
Thats typical for California lol
@@Yoloswegster Not surprising...Ness talks about how it's all about the fashion for him in "Another State of Mind".
Just tryn' to get in your panties or whatever...
11:29 There's gold in these hills lads.😂
They truly do sucketh
I enjoy the episodes about bands I like the most. I like Sunny D the drink as well.
Henry Rollins blows also
Yeah but the Henry Rollins Band were pretty damn good.
Agreed
Black Flag Damaged is classic tho.
No, he sucks
I use to like this band . Then I met Mike Ness. I'm glad I stop buying their albums.

I like this band until I moved to LA…
South LA ruined this band for me ..:

Social D sucks. They are not punk. Just like Good Charlotte is not punk. Punk is Charged GBH, Circle JeRks, NOFX, Vice Squad....
😂😂N0FX?! How does one include N0FX in same statement with GBH?! Are those mall punk stores still open?
DOn you dare talk shit about Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
They wouldn't dare, there might be 4 forgettable songs in their entire (stolen) catalogue.
I would rather listen to the Grease 2 soundtrack!!
Wow
I'd definitely take the Cry Baby soundtrack over social d
Don't talk about Led Z man!
Singer looks like sugar gay lol
around for 45 years and who are you?

I can't name a single Social Distortion song but I have heard them and I know they're shitty and forgettable
