Malate isn't as entertaining as Angeles City. I recommend it if you're into karaoke and Korean restaurants. I like it because it's an easy area to walk. There's also less traffic when going to the airport.
My man why you don't go to Cebu? the Visayas are very beautiful and the night life in Cebu city is fantastic....and of course the Cebuana are very gwapa..
