I smell a charity event - music trivia competition
The In Groove: Mike vs Noble Records: Dillon
Head full of pop trivia, probably handy when running a record store! The Mafia connections to record labels are interesting, heard a few stories over the years of musicians who got on the 'wrong side' of the bosses! Broken heart syndrome is a real medical condition, heart pumps less ideally due to stress brought on by loss, trauma.
great insights!
Really awesome segment I did pretty well , usually when someone's talking any conversation there's usually a song about what you're talking about and I always start singing a song and it makes people really mad 😂
That was fun! I knew a couple you missed but you doubled the ones I missed. Good job!
You were killing it dude! I would like another episode of that, that was fun!
There was a few I knew that you didn't but generally you answered more questions than I did!
Your wife is a very good game show host please bring her back sooner than next year! 😁
I played along with my wife, and I think you and I would have a pretty good match! This was fun, do it again!
Fun video! I'm a big fan of trivia. I think I came in somewhere around 75%. Nice job Dillon and Emily!
It's like Slumdog Millionaire.. he has a reason for knowing every answer. Lol
Hahah yep
Thanks guys, I really enjoyed the whole session. You're very good Dillon on rock trivia. I got a little more than half of them but you only missed 4 or 5 all night.
Please do it again... Your wife is great at asking the questions & has a great laugh, you know you are a lucky man (ELP).
Really enjoyed that.Man you should go on one of those trivia shows we're you pick a topic you are so good man I was lucky to get 35 % Loved the Rollins Blackflag Trivia that's a crazy story I did not know.cheers.from west Oz
Great fun! More please 😊
Please - I'd love to hear your music trivia stories! What a fun video.
Thanks for watching! 🙏
That was fun. Thanks for posting.
This was fantastic!!
That was fun guys. Great segment! Time to make it a monthly feature! Just a suggestion: grab a copy of the 80s board game Rock Trivia.... some outrageously tough questions in that game!
I actually think I have it!
Beautiful complicity !!!!!!
Fun! Bout like most musical convos between the wife and me. I def missed a few though! There used to be a Rock & Roll Jeopardy.... they should bring that back.
That was fun. Do it again!
im with emily .... its very impressed that you know so much music trivia!
Now I know exactly who let the dogs out. I needed this fun, thanks. Take Care.
Hahaha
He should be very happy to have a so wonderful wife
I'm loving this!
the Bon Jovi one was a tough one. his first solo recording was in 1980, although I don't believe it was a single
Loved this! Fun to play along at home. :-) The full title of the phenomenal Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis-produced Rhythm Nation album's full title is "Rhythm Nation 1814." The 1814 (for whatever reason) comes from the fact that R and N are the 18th and 14th letters of the alphabet. That album is worth a revisit-- I think that this is the peak of that collaboration, and really my favorite Janet album, with Control a close 2nd.
Excellent video! I loved playing along with you.
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Great job. Only missed a few of these, myself. Bonus points for mentioning Portland, Maine.
🤣👍
"Picking up steam, we'll keep going a little bit" - fast cut to looking tired and weary LOL!!
Hahaha
Impressive! I love the little stories about you knew some of the answers. I got about half of them.
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Great episode.
Love the change of content!👍
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Love music trivia actually participated in a contest in Vegas at Kiss mini golf called are you smarter than a rock star...up against about 100 or so contestants plus Ron Keel who was the rock star..apparently it was a weekly contest I guess I had more points in the one night than the other people had in the entire previous weeks lol. It’s stupid but it’s actually from reading liner notes on all the albums I’ve collected drives my wife nuts but that knowledge got me hired part time at a record store & the Hard Rock Cafe in Niagara Falls. Really lovin this channel. My expertise though is mostly classic rock & 60s rock. That Rush song is actually Tom Sawee lol.
Whoa this dude should play El Duce in a movie!
VERY Impressive!!!! I also love your joshua tree picture.
Look up Blur's Song #2, you know it.
Hahah just listened. Yes. I know it 🤣
Very entertaining. Very knowledgeable 👍😎
I knew two of the ones you didn't but didn't 90% of the one you did. I would love for you to do this again now.
Hey Krispy kreme!!!!!
Very good job!!!
Do more of these videos!!! It was very entertaining!!
Have your on more too, very fun!!! Also next video do the cards you didn't get to!!!
I’m trying to get Emily on more!
Great fun! Make it a Friday night trivia video regular
🤣
Nice job! Although there were some I thought you would have gotten but you got a ton that didn’t so very nice!
Yeah I don’t know em all 🤣
“Gerry Spice” LMAO!
Love it
You two crack me up!
She’s delightful. She should be in every video.
Correction…Tommy James is still living. Marv Levy was the mob boss who owned roulette records. You need to read Tommy’s book me the mob and the music. I promise you..you won’t put it down! It needs to be a movie in my opinion. Great video!
I guess I wasn’t clear, I meant when the mob boss died, not Tommy.
That was a fun watch guys! Thanks!
Thanks for watching! 🙏
I'm glad we're in agreement about 'Built This City'
🤣
That was fun. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! 🙏
A fantastic video to go along while I’m going through some records, which to sack, which to sell.
Been following a while now, and if being a christian gives such a good vibe, I might consider turning myself 🤔😃
Well, really appreciate your channel 🙂👏🏻🤘🏻❤️
This was fun. Waiting for the next video. Maybe Q&A.
mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
Wow man, I thought I knew music, but you guys who own record stores hear a lot, amazing!
But do you own a Presence object? lol
Nice one, keep it up!
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Nice job !
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Blur question was a very good one
Haha I went back and listened and have heard the song a million times 🤣 just didn’t ring a bell
Hey ya'll-that was fun! I recommend watchin' these you tube videos: Mike Portnoy & Neal Morse play Beatles Name That Tune (2) and Mike Portnoy and Melody Portnoy play Beatles Name That Tune (2). They are all unbelievably quick 'n accurate. Thanks for the good time.
This is great stuff!!! The two of you together is a fun watch! Next time grab yer guitar and sing together...set a record for views for sure!
We might!
@@noblerecords Just seeing you both boppin your heads to Don Henley was a riot!!!
U2 are so entertaining. Good job Mr. Noble.
and the volstwagon answer ... brilliant.
Thanks!!!
she has the same laugh as you do hahah
What memory , noble records !!!!!💪💪
I remember some things. I’ve forgotten a ton
@@noblerecords Not a lot !😊😊
Coincidence: Gram Parsons died in Joshua Tree, CA and you have a painting of a Joshua Tree on your wall.
Drinkin a huge cup o coffee and killin it in music trivia! If I drank that much coffee I wouldn't be able to answer trivia questions, but I could probably paint your entire house. And then I would sleep for 3 days.
Haha come on over. I can use a painter 🤣
He's like me. I was spitting these out simultaneously lol
That was fun!
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Feeling Arizona.
Hahahahaha
Hahaha! You sir, have earned one full week of the George Jefferson strut and a cocky sneer. Now, go enjoy walking that strut or strutting that walk. Your choice, Dillon! lol
Awww!! 😊your wife Emily is a sweetie!...and an angel for putting up with you!! ,hee, just kidding! nice video!🎵👍
No... you’ve got it 100% right 🤣
Had to pause video for a few seconds to think of "Blaze of Glory" but got it lol
Haha I had no clue
For what it's worth (meaning, not very much at all), almost all the ones you got right, I got right. Most of the ones you got wrong, I also got wrong. That was fun!
Haha thanks for playing!
Something on vinyl spinning in the background would be nice🎶🎵🎼
Yeah, would love to but every time I do, UA-cam pulls my video for copywrite laws.
@@noblerecords W0W
Didn't know it was a thang
"all my friends are asleep" LOL
🤣
I knew a lot of those, but you knew way more than me. However most of the ones you didn't know, I did. So we'll call it a draw. LOL!
Haha that’s how it is! 🤣
That was fun. I got about 5 of them right.;-)
Thanks for watching! 🙏
I’m much better at name that tune. “I can name that tune in three notes!” Not so much with the trivia facts.😉😊
Saw "The Firm" in '87 . Front row, White Levi's jacket with black silk screened Zeppelin images, sitting on my brother's shoulders. Jimmy Page was mere inches away from me. As he looked at my jacket during the opening song "Fortune Hunter". By the time the song was over, there was a STREAM of mucus, slobber, slime filled drippings over a foot long coming from the extinguished tip of his saturated cigarette. It was a YIKES moment I'll never forget.
If you've never heard any of their music, start with:
-Midnight Moonlight
-Spirit of Love
-Live in Peace
Yep! I have heard them.
Does your wife collect vinyl As well? Just started watching recently love your videos tons of great knowledge..any more stuff along the lines/ similar to the led zeppelin Robert Ludwig pressing ?
Special pressings that sound the way they should!
Ps. Some of these questions were pretty intense.
I was just going to comment Slumdog Millionaire.
Love it! Melissa and I are Trivial Pursuit fiends! It has both strained and reinforced our relationship over the years. We're both super competitive, and we love to compete against each other. Slumdog is super overrated.
Slumdog blowssss
I think Trivial Persuit is in every Goodwill in America, because every family gets mad at how bad they are at it
Hahaha
@@noblerecords I honestly don't know if we've ever finished a game. It's worse than Monopoly. I think 4 pieces out of 6 is the high score in my house
I got the Trivial Pursuit music edition game for Christmas one year, but nobody would play it with me. They all figured it would be a useless situation.
Hahaha
Hey now!
Surprised how many of these I knew, and I don't own a record store! (I knew "Feeling Minnesota" 'cause of the Keanu Reeves film)
Nice job, but can't believe you missed what city The Pumpkins were from!
Okay Dillon.......What mocumentary of a fictitious band did Hugh Dillon star in?
I never play music trivia games , because people always get mad at me lololol 😂 it's never fun for them to never get a turn lolol
@Noble Records Could you please share what those trivia cards are called?
This was fun. I actually did pretty darn good lol. :)
Are the Pictures on the wall behind you guys influenced by U2?
No 🤣
One I knew that Dillon didn't was Vogue by Madonna. Oh, and Tennessee by Arrested Development.
I want to hang out with this dude
🤘
Wasn't a game show called Name that Tune I think Dillon would be great on that show.
🤣
You should compete with other record store owners. I suggest ken from spin records in Carlsbad ca.
I would lose miserably
I listened to all of the questions, and I got 3 right answers.....I suck!
Nawwww
The S.S. Minnow
For all you "Scrooged" fans
This was great!! really enjoyed answering those .... but for someone who lives and breathes this all day (and night) yo' shood have just 'fessed up and told yo' wife the truth....these are pretty standard music questions for a rock nerd...
Yeah they were soft serve
Throw him some psych / prog question s instead! Geez 😂
🤣
You guys laugh the same lol.
Betcha don't know what track four on Justin Bieber's last album is titled, smartypants!
🤣🤣🤣 peaches? 😬🤣
Dillon, you should play put up or shut up on wkrr.
He’d destroy me
Blur is a blur lol. There's No Other Way is a great early single from them.
🙏
WHAMMY!
Those were pretty easy, but I'm a 55 year old record store owner.
They were definitely easy
See Emily Play
