Whoa Polyamorous was WAY heavier in this version than in the one on Saturate. Really wish they had kept this one not gonna lie I love the raw heaviness of it all.
Late to the party but have you heard the live early stuff. The original Simple Design is amazing. Love BB new stuff but really love their raw drunk pain stuff more.
@@UltraCrazycarl 100% agree. I saw them a few years ago co-headlining with FFDP and they were AMAZING!!! so glad i got to see both bands, but BB were on fire!! And they still look like they love what they do!!
random person yeah Dark Before Dawn had a bit too much of an...electronic(?) sound. Something that was not what I expected from BB. Plus they just seem to keep tuning their guitars further and further down to the point I think it makes it sounds a bit more muddled than their early work.
@@Matt_Bright_1983 that haven't gone any lower than Drop A#/Bb, where as in the beginning ur right, they started off with this heavy sound in Drop C#/Db for saturate, from that point on during the we are not alone to dear agony days they utilized Drop C & Bb tuning notable songs from phobia that use drop Bb are Evil Angel, You Fight Me & Diary of Jane. Man, this brings back memories. I was living in Scranton and Larksville around that time. I used to see this all the time at Gallery of Sound. I had a few copies but lord knows where they went. LOL.
I'm so excited that I found this!! I thought I would never be able to listen to this old EP! It sounds so raw and powerful and awesome! Love Breaking Benjamin. (And love this old version of Medicate!)
Man I remember downloading this back in 01 on Napster. This ep got me into them I couldn’t wait for saturate to drop after consuming these 5 songs for so long. Hearing these versions of Medicate and polyamorous for the first time in years thanks to UA-cam and the poster her I thought they were in my head only forever. I burned them to a cd-r years ago that cd is long gone likely destroyed no MP3 players back then or much room to keep on the computer. This shit is a blast from the past.
This was BB at their best. Saw them many times in WB before they signed to make Saturate. Ah, the good 'ol days. Still have this on CD but it has been used and abused and barley plays anymore. Thanks for this upload.
Idk if it’s because I’m low key stoned out of my fucking mind but this sounds so much better. I love these versions and it’s now officially the superior way to listen to them.
My first Breaking Benjamin album. Everyone just knew these guys were gonna be the next thing. The music, the voice. Shoulda stopped making music for awhile after Dear Agony
The one that started it all. To be honest i disagree with some of the comments that say that this is better than the ones from saturate, although i think that these ones are pretty good and in their right have their own merit as music.
Hahaha, was this Ben singing? He sounded a lot more yarly back then. And those almost operatic vocals in "Home", I don't think I've heard vocals like that very often at all! Really interesting record.
I’m sure the songs also sound better because Aaron Fink and Mark Klepaski weren’t in the band yet. Ben was doing both guitars, and they had a bassist by the name of Jonathan Bug Price. So I’m guessing by the time the 2 new members came into the band, the sound shifted to a little less rough around the edges.
Brings back memories of hanging with DJ Freddie the Road manger for Breaking Ben and also 979xDJ !!Wonder what ever happen to him I know he not with the band in a long time ??? Anybody know ?? Anyways this ep rocks enough said -

No BB song uses auto tune but every one of them besides the demos use techniques like vocal comping and pitch correction (eg. melodyne). Both of those are standard industry practice for vocals in almost any genre and you'd be hard pressed to find artists that don't use it.

Hollywood ruined them. Although still awesome

That's interesting since regular BB is boring af live
Just when I thought I'd heard all of their stuff.. even super rare songs. Then I find this gem. Thanks for posting!

I have one I bought off a dude back like 12 years ago for 100 bucks. Looked it up, and I only saw one selling for 600.
Brings back great memories as a kid I listened to this EP so many times.
that's him alright.
You must've been lucky. Only first heard them two years ago.
It has its downsides. Listening to Breaking Benjamin before it was cool sounds so elitist.

3.Polyamorous/ 6:40

You probably can get it resurfaced because I guess only 2,000 copy's were made according to Wikipedia
I don’t have a way to describe the sound of this. The guitars are really heavy and the drums are hard hitting. That’s all I can say.
Congrats on the 8 likes!
The beggining of a legend
Indeed. Also, very proud of who Breaking Benjamin is today. Perfect bandmates.
I love BB so much
Thanks for this, man.
This is sick stuff.

Awesome EP. Ben sounds great as always.

Home sounds so much more brutal at the start. That bend almost sounds like a scream in "Home" and "Shallow Bay".
Breaking Benjamin was a monster back in the day, huh? 🙏🤘🔥
9:41 water sounds like something out of breaking bad
Breaking Benjamin Badly, huh?
I never knew this ever exsited, overly diffcult to find but I'm glad I found it. And also now I finally have something kinda new to listen to.
How have I not heard this stuff before? This is legendary!

I like the effect on Bens voice after he says I'll shove your head under water. Nice.
Ridiculously good!!!!
This is true rock!!!!
'Home' sounds so much better
The EP I've been looking for. Too bad I'll never find it to buy. EBay has one that's almost $200!
Tiffany Fab i just lucked out and found a custom framed and signed EP there
Tiffany Renée There's only 2,000 copies of this EP that were ever sold, so that would explain why it's so difficult to find lol
Gamer Guy Luckiest dude in the world! Glad you were able to get that! Super jealous ^^
There's one on discogs.com for like $256.00. I just won a sealed ep from Ebay cost me $282.00, best thing it came from an old band member.🤘
Took me over 10 years to finally get one!
Polyamorous sounds sick
My first Breaking Benjamin album. Everyone just knew these guys were gonna be the next thing. The music, the voice. Shoulda stopped making music for awhile after Dear Agony
They did stop making music for a while after Dear Agony wdym
They didn't make music until like 6 years later
this is so GOOD!!! i'm in love with this ep!!!
in my opinion, Breaking Benjamin EP versions > Saturate versions
agreed, but Water is literally the same except some stuff is just different.
home and polyamorous sound completely different
Nice pfp😳
There’s not a lot of difference in most of the songs, just some mixing changes. But Polyamorous and Home sound much more intense
facts thanks god I'm not alone
💯
I swear we need a cd with the alt versions cuz I swear these sound better than cd or can understand the lyrics better than the cd
nice
Yeah I remember this back in '02 and better than the album version.
Who remembers getting the EP versions on Limewire, not knowing they were the EP, and then being blown away at the Saturate versions later?

This is wicked sick 👏
O UA-cam me recomendou essa EP hoje. Que EP foda essa versão Diferente de Polyamorous nem se fala.
there was another. cant remember was so long ago but one of the songs had a wizard of oz sample in the beginning.
that would be Home
That’s the Saturate album version :)
Medicate sounds amazing 👏
Hahaha, was this Ben singing? He sounded a lot more yarly back then. And those almost operatic vocals in "Home", I don't think I've heard vocals like that very often at all! Really interesting record.
Yarly, lol I love that description. 😅♥️ You never heard of Home back then when you left this comment?

That and the record label wanted something a little more Nu Metal sounding, this just sounds like straight up metal.
@@jessedeleon4123this is more nu metal than the first two albums are
Love this
The newer version of Medicate is just better. The outros are the main reason I fell in love with Medicate and Next to Nothing.
In shallow bay, it appears to be that they kept the same vocals in the Saturate version
i always seen this band as a hard rock alternative metal, but to think they were only alternative metal kinda makes me rethink subgenre formulas lol

It sounds like theres no auto tune
probably because there isn't
Not a single BB song uses autotune. Only layered vocals
@@threadworm437 Depends on what you mean by AutoTune. They do, as everyone else, some small values of pitch corrections, but that's all.

EP > ALL albuns , but this albuns is good too
Love their song about medic-aid lolol I crack myself up
What is this cover supposed to be ?
Just different mix levels and tone . Nothing different other than the tone and equipment the tuning isn’t any heavier
So just gonna ignore the obviously different vocal takes on Polyamorous and Medicate then?
This is when Breaking Benjamin was good. I'm from Wilkes Barre saw them many times. The studio CD is too polished. This CD was more raw
got a Tool sound
Lel Pluck I lik yolk Oh ya, OH YA!!
CristianPlays123 when
Sounds like early Three Days Grace
What about Top of the World????

What does ep mean?
Extended play. Generally 2-5 songs.
