    How long/deep in the pocket/ do you make the pocket square to have enough space for the flowers and yet keep it snug inside the pocket?

      That's an excellent question, Michaela! In this video, Leanne cut a 10 inch piece of the projector felt and then folded in half giving her a 5 inch base to work with for placing her flowers. Ideally the base should go all the way to the bottom of the pocket leaving you about 2 inches that will be exposed. It's a good idea to keep a typical suit jacket around so as you are creating your pocket squares, you can test them out and see how they look in an actual jacket. We hope this information helps, and we look forward to seeing what you create. Thank you for watching our Tulip Tuesday Tip and wishing you all the best!

    I am making pocket squares for a wedding for the first time. How many days in advance do you find it's safe to assemble/glue the flowers so they will still be fresh for wedding day. I make my bouts and corsages in a way that they have a water source, but it is not possible with these. Much appreciated.

      That's an excellent question, Justine! We hope your work in making pocket squares is going well for you. We would suggest doing all of the prep work to create the pocket squares ahead of time, and then adding flowers the day before. If the flowers you use are well hydrated in advance and you choose longer lasting flowers, then they should be fresh and beautiful all throughout the celebration. Dried flowers and permanent botanicals also work well for these. Thank you very much for stopping by to watch our show, and we hope you will visit us again soon. Sending you very best wishes and if you feel like it, please do share a photo of what you have created!

    Where can I find this felt?

      That's an excellent question! We searched for 3 in x 30 ft - Vibrancy Enhancing Projector Screen Felt Tape Border - by ConClarity, and found several vendors (including Amazon) who sell it through on-line orders. There may be other brands available as well. Thank you for stopping by to see our latest Tulip Tuesday Tip, and we hope it helps you create these beautiful pocket squares. Wishing you all the best and please have a wonderful week!

    How does the projector tape do in a cooler after it's been made?

      That's an excellent question, Jennifleur! For the most part, it holds up well, but we always suggest that you run your own experiment before you actually need to use it so that you can make sure that it works well for your project. Thank you for stopping by to watch this unique and helpful Tulip Tuesday Tip. We hope you will visit us again whenever you can and we look forward to seeing you then. Best wishes for a wonderful week with flowers!

    I understand it's 5 inches long but how many inches wide? I don't have any males that I can measure on there suits

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  10 місяців тому

      That's an excellent question, Rhetta! Honestly it varies a bit as the width of breast pockets is generally proportionate to the suit jacket itself, which would vary depending on the size of the person wearing it. The pockets can be anywhere from 3 to 5 inches wide, and one way to get standard width might be to call a men's suit store and ask them what the width is on their standard ready-made suit jackets. Either way we hope this helps a bit. If you aim for 4 inches wide, it will probably work. It's best to experiment before you need to create it. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch our show, and we hope you will visit us again soon. Wishing you a delightful weekend and hope all goes well for you!
