- A little trek on the outskirts of Karakol to Altyn Arashan Valley in Kyrgyzstan... it's a 15 kilometer walk to the yurts from Ak-Suu village.
Above Altyn Arashan lies Ala-Kuul lake, another trekking destination.

Nice video. Im going there in June 2023. Is it a wellmarked hikingroute? No chance of taking a wrong route and end up a different place? I guess you took taxi from Karakol to hikingstart? How much was taxi? Was it easy to get taxi back from trailend?
Yeah it’s a pretty straight forward route if you’re just going up to altyn arashan from Ak Su, go to Centre point hostel when you get to karakol they have maps and info plus people who are going there.
Taxi pretty straight forward to get and price isn’t too much maybe 400-500 som, I can’t quite remember. People are friendly and helpful in Kyrgyzstan so you’ll have no worries.
