Do not underestimate the magnitude of this pick up. Imagine having a punter who can switch the field and pin opponents inside the 20 with a strong defense. This is massive getting a strong experienced punter such as Bouwmeester.
I think it helps take the pressure off Michael Kern. Now, he can work on improving his leg strength to improve his hangtime and distance. He’s obviously talented. He wouldn’t be at Texas if he wasn’t. He just needs some additional development.
Auburn needs to be pressed with competition. He’s still a good kicker (had a fantastic 2023 season), but he needs competition to get the best from him. Stone is a KO-only guy I’m afraid and really cannot push him enough.
@@ScottieDrippen Only with a sure thing. Auburn proved he could get it done in 2023 and for whatever reason has been inconsistent in 2024. Cutting loose a guy like him is feasible only if there is a sure-fire replacement ready.
BOOM! Great pick up for special teams! Hope Kern understands and learns from Jack Bouwmeester. Also see OTF at 66.0K and increasing. Need some good heavy weight DL for 2025. Hook’Em Horns 🤘🏾🤘🏻🤘🏽🤘🏼🤘🏿🏈🇺🇸 Go Sark and OTF.💯
@@thekat77 if we we were still in the BIG12, that might work. Cause the SEC refs sure seem to have issues making correct call during actual games. LOL.
I still do not see the advantage in accuracy in kicking field goals soccer style rather than straight on with a blunt toe shoe. It must be distance as there is no way that style of kicking is more accurate. Yes I am older than dirt!
Would be interesting to see his punting avg at home vs on the road. Salt Lake City is at high altitude. So will his punting avg holp up at sea level? (Austin).
Pk does not want to be a hc hes paid HANSOMLY and has stated he loves doing D fence. Most coaches are in an awesome spot for us. The only one i get scared of is Coach choice. I personally hope they give him the title of assistant OC and pay him like an OC.
What an opportunity for Kern to learn under such an accomplished kicker. That resource to learn from can make him reach and exceed his goals
An Aussie punter?? Yesss!

BOOM we needed that

CAN WE REPLACE BERT?!?!

@ nah, he needs to be replaced. His 2023 season can’t help us now.

Can Bert go into the portal to auburn??
Now we need a FG kicker
UNLV Kicker!!!
Need a consistent long field goal kicker!
Great pickup! 🤘

The altitude of Salt Lake City where Utah plays certainly helped Bouwmeester....
They need a place kicker more than a punter.
We needed both
Too bad we can’t have him for playoffs
Just put a Kern jersey on him and send him in!

🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Good pickup. Like all pickups, let’s hope they don’t smoke weed. No lit Js on this team. Avoid rolling paper at all costs
Yay!
Something needs to change, special teams took 2 steps back this year.
Wonder if he can kick field goals

Texas need a kicker not a punter
What is the level of concern that one or more of Tx’s coaches (eg PK) gets poached for an HC position?

Danny Ric influence maybe
Boom-meester!
hookem 🤘
Can he play in the first round of the Playoffs lol?
No.
44yards Is not a long punt
Kicking at altitude How about a FG kicker that can hit from 50
😂😂😂😂
He plays in away games as well, his long was at UCF
You think kicking from 50, I'm thinking one who can kick even from 20, burt is in a dog house , he can't kick even from 5 yard
Need a field goal kicker more especially with Ewers at QB.
What is his average at low altitudes in the SEC?
Looks like he had 7 kicks in Orlando vs UCF. 46 avg.
