    I’ve said this on here before but at the beginning of the summer when all the hype was around Jacobsen, gicarri, and cox, I had a family member that works at Purdue say that Burgess is the one to watch. Said dude is an absolute freak.

    If Painter doesn’t take advantage of the small ball and great guards we have, I’ll be a bit disappointed. I know TKR will get the ball a lot, but it sounds like we have some amazing guard options.
    I hope we can find the right balance. I do trust Paint though over couch potato me.

      I guess I disagree. Think how your Big 10 opponents will react. Purdue has a center that is 6 foot 8, can't shoot a 3, can't drive in and score. Their game plan will be to feed the ball inside to their near 7 foot dude or their 7+ dude and have him score and wear down TKR all game long. Yes TKR will get points but man that will make for a long season. Contrast that to say Purdue starting a 7 foot guy and TKR being at the 4 spot. Yes he can still go down low and play with his back to the basket. If one of the Purdue 7 footers is any good at all, then this team is a lot harder for other teams to deal with. The question still remains, can Purdue guards produce without arguably the best center in the game on their team? Teams backed off A LOT to shut down Edy last year. They won't be doing that this year. Especially if Purdue's center is 6'8" or 6'9".

      @@SteveMichaelthat depends on how good the transition game is. If we are able to get out and go they can run 7 footers off the floor.

      @@SteveMichaelI think it will be match up dependent. Tkr is a bucket on the low block. If we surround him with shooters I think he can do work. But yeah against some teams we need to play a 7 footer with tkr at rhe 4

    Wasn’t live but my hot take is that Purdue will barely miss out on making the NCAA tourney this year but will win it all next season. History kinda repeating itself until Jacobson is ready and we have senior leadership.

      The team with 3 starters from a team that’s been a 1 seed two years in a row won’t even make the dance? Maybe not a crazy high seed but that’s certainly… a take.

      Those starters are going to have a HUGE adjustment without Edey and no one his size is ready this year yet. It is a hot take after all lol

      @@tkamel18definitely a hot take considering TKR will be very good. Colvin has high scoring potential too.

    17:01 TKR would be the most ready to go redshirt in Purdue history. He is still one of our highest rated recruits ever and also had similar size as a freshman.

      Watched both in preseason. JMO, but think Burgess is more ready today than TKR was in same year he redshirted. Think part of that is what Burgess role will be is more clear.

    Any chance of Waddel at 2 spot against teams with big attacking guards or is he locked as a 3-4 on bench?

    • @colebucket6009
      @colebucket6009 День тому

      Locked on bench from everything I’ve seen and read. Loyer / Harris / cox / Colvin/ smith all above him in rotation.
