    Welcome on board my first over night ferry ride in Japan. Today we take Tokyo Kyushu Ferry from Yokosuka (1 hour from Tokyo) to Shin Moji port in Kita Kyushu city in Fukuoka in a private room. Will it be a good substite for the night trains or night buses?
    On this trip, we proceed to Yamaguchi and Hiroshima after the ferry. Please kindly subscribe and check back for the series of my travel videos, introducing different local regions of Japan. I hope you can find out your favorite spots to travel for your next trip to Japan.

    Hi Kenchan! I'm at Hilton again! Great video. The quality gets more professional each time. I had no idea this ferry existed. Honestly, you are so nice. (^.^) Feeling guilty about a short cab ride. Don't feel bad. You went to a place where many more people will want a ride. He will get another customer quickly. (^.-) This ship is beautiful! A excellent tour. Truly, you are a superb guide. Otsukaresamadeshita. (^.-)

      Thank you so much for such a big support Carl san!! It's great to hear you are back to Tokyo again. :) I hope you have another comfortable stay in Japan this time. Haha, I was a bit surprised when I started to see the ferry when the meter was still 500 yen. ^^; I'm glad I could show you the ferry. Thank you so much again for your support.

    This is definitely up there with my favourite videos of yours Kengo san! I love the sense of adventure that you captured. Also loved the different shots, especially the falling asleep shot showing the boat rocking - that was a pro move! 👍

      Thank you so much for watching and your feedback Chris san! I took that with gimble and didn't expect it could film like that. This is a little more vlog style that I haven't done much before, so I'm really relieved you liked this. I saw this comment like a few second before I fell in sleep so I could sleep with slight smile on my face. haha. Please let me know your thoughts anytime if you notice something could be better. Thank you again.

    I am a fan of overnight ferry travel after taking the ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo around this time last year. Your excellent video brought back many memories. Agree that this is a romantic way to travel. Big difference is that the Scandinavian trip is in mostly protected waters of the North Sea. The route offers wonderful scenery and arrival in Oslo is mid morning which is a plus.

    Great video! Actually we have viewed other videos about ferry travel but did not have enough information to seriously consider it. Your video is comprehensive enough that we now see ferry travel as something that can be included in our itinerary in the future. Thank you!

      Thank you so much for your support Kevin san and Dale san!! I tried to made it like "traveling together" style which I haven't done much before, but I'm glad it was informative enough so that travelers can consider it for their travel, which is the whole point of this channel. I'll do the same for the future vidoes in this series too! Thank you for your feedback and support again! :)

    Fantastic video! In February we took the sunflower ferry from Hokkaido to Tokyo. We had a fantastic time on board. The only negative was getting to and from the ports.
    The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were good and price very reasonable.
    We are planning on taking the same route as your video and another ferry to Busan next year.

    • @tokyokenchan
      @tokyokenchan  14 днів тому +1

    フェリーを使った旅行って何故かロマン感じます。おっしゃられたように海と煙の匂い、修学旅行を彷彿させる(笑)部屋に大浴場、好きですね。けんごさんと旅してる気分で拝見させて頂きました。

    • @tokyokenchan
      @tokyokenchan  17 днів тому +1

      煙の匂いのところに気づいていただくとは流石です。初めてだったので全てが面白かったのですが、特に大浴場はいいですね〜。また他の国内ルートでも船旅をしてみたいと思いました。揺れだけは慣れることは無さそうですが、、。ご視聴ありがとうございます!(常連大歓迎です 笑)

    • @hidekigomi
      @hidekigomi 17 днів тому +1

      移動と宿泊込みだから海外からの方にもコスパ良いしオススメできるのではないかと。
      やっぱり内風呂より大浴場ですね!風呂上がりに船内探索も面白そうだし。大阪発のフェリーだと瀬戸内だから揺れが少なさそう。コメント、他の視聴者の方考慮して英語の方がいいですか?

    • @tokyokenchan
      @tokyokenchan  17 днів тому +3

      @@hidekigomi Hidekiさん、寝台列車も消えつつあるので、仰る通り船はお勧めですよね。船内アナウンスやメニューが日本語だけでしたので不安はあるかと思いますが、外国人の乗客が増えると変わるのでしょうか。コメント、お気遣いいただき有難うございます。日本語も楽しいですし、英語は他の視聴者の方にも楽しんでいただけますので、できれば両方でというのは冗談で、どちらでも嬉しいです。^^

    Hello Kenchan, thank you for putting this series together. I had never considered using a ferry to get around Japan but maybe it is an option to look at for future trips? Looking forward to your tour of Yamaguchi as my sister in law is from Tokuyama in this prefecture. Cheers Mat

      Thank you Matt san for mentioning about the continuing series to Yamaguchi. I thought nobody watched till that part. ^^; Yamaguchi was really a nice place so I'm excited to talk about that part of Japan. Ferry might not be considered as transportation option, but I think it would be an interesting experience. Some people become repeater, some not.

    I wanted to plan a ride on either the Sunrise Express train, or DreamSleeper bus, but this short cruise could be another option. I just need an overnighter to end up further south. Thanks for the informational episode.👍🏽

    it's funny that the cabin seems bigger than many hotel rooms in japan...
    i've done a similar trip from italy to greece and my cabin was a lot smaller than that :) and the ship was a lot less luxurious...but it is a nice way to travel if you have the time - and calm seas...

      Yes, it might be easier to put Osaka-Kyushu ferry to put in your itinerary as it's much shorter. For this one, once you get to Yokosuka port and book a hotel in Kitakyushu or Fukuoka next night, it will be fine. Thank you for watching Edna san!

    Great video, the ferry looked spotlessly clean and the room was a decent size. Price wise would it be comparable to the fast train?
    I have a question if possible -
    Is it the same ferry company that runs the service to South Korea,

    • @tokyokenchan
      @tokyokenchan  14 днів тому

      Thank you for watching. Yes, it was exactly spotless clean which made the room very comfortable. Price wise, if you choose the Tourist A which is a private booth like a capsule, it's competitive. It seems they have a "Kanpu" ferry in the same group, which runs ferry from Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi to Busan. The one from Osaka to Busan is a different company I think.
