Excellent Connections. I got the purple group first too (I think it was the easiest) but I am not an expert in fine literature and so the beanstalk things were my leftovers. Slow but no mistakes. Great Mini. Lucky 53 seconds for me. Good Strands. A quick scan around the edges and corners gave me OUTLAW and that immediately suggested WESTERNS as the spangram. No misclicks.
beans can be vitality too as in being 'full of beans' so there were seven options for that category Quite interesting how some will prioritise the meaning of a word rather than the visual properties of the word first. Seems some don't even notice the palindromes till they've tried other options first.
It seems like the top performers for UA-cam creators were pretty steady with no error solves on Connections today. It’s seemingly going to take something incredibly obscure to trip them up.
Nerd here, I saw your comment about the cap at 1 million games on a previous connections video, and from what it looks like it caps out recording at 1,000,000. I don't work for NYT or anything but the reason I know this is because my connections extension mod I made reads all the JSON files and it seems to show a cap of 1,005,000 for total number of people played. So what you said about bias may be correct considering it stops recording after a while. Anyways, I could be wrong but its been consistent for a while
Connections : Super easy today, found the car models right away, then saw Jack and the Beanstalk. Got a NYT Connections Bot score of 98. Compared to the dumster fire I had yesterday with the NBA teams, and that one was supposed to be easier. Mini Crossword , got it just under 3 minutes. Strands, a super fast solve for me, was even able to find the Spanagram first with no errors. Of all these games, I do best at Strands.
This Connections was not super hard on thinking of categories and members, but it was pretty extreme on things you might reasonably do and end up losing. That reminds me that there's a new season of Only Connect, which has a round that's somewhat like Connections, but the puzzles are designed around the fact that you've got infinite guesses for the first two categories with a time limit, which means that all of the categories usually match at least 5 items, and people still complete it. I made a mistake thinking they were 5-letter palindromes, but being one away sorted me out. On Strands, I saw HORSE first, which left BOUNTY next to it, so I had the right idea for the span-a-gram before I saw COWBOY(S).
I got the Vitality category....but I could not get "pep" out of my head that it should be in it, so when I took one away...I wound up losing... and I saw palindromes, but thought that was red herring.

I mis-read the theme for Strands and thought it said Boots and Sandals. Saw cowboy and then spent a while looking for types of shoes!

I got purple and blue first, thought the spangram was 'cowboys,' and didn't think of 'bee' as the worker. So, pretty much the same as you.
I forgot about the Giant. Connections making me unlucky! But I am happy about Strands today along with The Mini.

Giant, beans and energy are all green _____. I couldn't get a good feel for the fourth, but would have tried life or juice and gotten a mistake.
