Thanks for sharing, Ryan. Life really was simpler. When I graduated high school in 2006, we didn't have metal detectors or backpack inspections. Seems the world today has gone awry.
This made me emotional. I really didn’t care for high school at the time. I graduated GHS in 08’ and I couldn’t wait to get out of there. But I miss these simpler times. Just remembering the GHS band playing, the football games, those favorite teachers you had, those few cool ass people you knew. I can hear the Alma Matter now “hail to thee Glendora, loyal we will always be...”
there is a way to have what you want my friend. After 10 years of competing in swimming, i went back to my old high school and helped my coach in coaching. It was great, you feel like you are part of the scene again with all the competitions and being able to walk around campus again as an adult and terrorize my old teachers.
High school basketball games were always fun, I never played but I did enjoy going to them. I also went to school with someone who would go on to play professional sports in the NFL for a couple of seasons Deron Smith he's still hanging around as a player on a practice squad comes back home every off season and holds a youth camp.

Yikes. I was in my first year of college in 1999. April, '99 was spring semester. It would be another year or before I bought my 1st cell phone.
