In a way, this is kind of the same concept as joining a gym. You pay a small membership fee to join a facility that already has everything you need and use it when you need it. When you're done, other people use it. Everyone doesn't have to have an entire room in their house dedicated to expensive weights and equipment they use three times a week - and that's at best. Many people buy a treadmill or a weight bench, use them a few times and then they collect dust.

You're quite right, Lawrence: as our thinking moves in the direction of such sharing, we will see it more and more ... and be so glad for it!

Recently i want to the beach i was offered by a friend to go surfer but he didn't own a surf board nor did i. But what was interesting and cool is that the beach itself gave Free Access to surf boards, No sign up, No ID check, we used the board for as long as we wanted and the only thing is when you return to land you place the Surf Board back so others could us it.
They created a system of Access that allow the uses of a good without having to own one, transport or store this given item in your home. The only concern for me and my friend was to have fun and learn how to surf it was my first time riding a surf board all thank to this FREE ACCESS.

Lawrence used the hammer, i like to think of the car. Just think about all the wasted resource from vehicle sitting in parking lot waiting to be sold.. Now think of it just in your area, now your town or city, now your state, now your country that's a lot of wasted resources form something waiting to be sold.

I see it completely this way. Think housing, cars, boats, trucks. I don't need a truck very often but renting one is expensive and a hassle. I don't need a boat but maybe once a year for like a day. Or house. I would be fine with swapping houses with people every few years. Live on the beach for couple years, live in the mountains, live in other countries. The idea of paying most of your life for a house you probably won't live in the whole 30 years or even 15 years. Seems archaic and poor use of space. Houses are great for a while but then they are mostly upkeep on something you don't use the same way anymore. You have a baby, then two or three, they move out, you get old. You needs change at least every 5 to 10 years. Most people can't afford to travel much because they are paying on a house. But what if you could travel every 5 years to anywhere in the world stay explore, know the language, the food, the culture, then move again. Don't like it..find a vacant and swap again.
