Hey there, glad you found me!!! Yep, stirring over a low heat is half the battle. The other half the battle is taking it out of the freezer every 15 mins and giving it a gentle swirl - otherwise, it will separate and be icy on the top half, rather than creamy.
My mom watched the cheesecake oreo video. Now she wants to make it ! She is a cake addict, Pie addict (pear with chocolate and almond ). We LOVE cheesecake factory !
THANK YOU so very very much. I really appreciate it, it helps. I'm going to make this recipe on Easter Sunday with my girls and I'm sure they will love it. I will let you know how it turns out. Keep up the great videos:)
Yes, as soon as you remove the custard mixture from the heat - add the chocolate and the cream, as shown in the video. It would make little difference if you did it after the custard mixture had cooled, except it would be more difficult for the cream and the custard to combine properly.
The turn out of your ice cream looks really good. I made ice cream once..but it was for a science experiment. Good Video ( I hope to try this some day ) = )
OMG! This recipe actually works! Real homemade Dark Chocolate Icecream without a blender or an icecream machine... ZERO CARBS My swap outs: Using only heavy whipping cream, eggs, Stevia Sweet Leaf, Dark Chocolate sauce made with unsweetened powder, butter & coconut oil. 15 min prep time. 6 hrs in freezer. Once done 15 min to thaw-- Decadent & Delicious! I use 2 packets of stevia after heating dark chocolate in the microwave 30 sec and in the whipped cream step. After setting for first 15 min in freezer I added more to taste during the final stir .....enjoy :-)
Fantastic...now you've gone and got your Mum involved...hahaha - I'd love to see some pictures of whatever she makes - tell her to share the recipe on my website (link above in description bar).
Hey there, if you go to my website (address under the description), you will find a couple of other recipes there - all made without an ice-cream machine. Though, I hear you - I'd like a machine too - even just to loan one, to see if they are any good, or worth buying.
Could you please use measurements in cups and grams instead of pints...got no idea how much 3/4 pint of milk is without having to google it to convert it and this gets annoying when trying to cook something. Thanks heaps for the great recipes, will continue to watch all your videos.
3/4 pint = One and a half cups 2 ounces = 57 grams 3 ounces = 85 grams I will certainly keep the measurements modern from now on. My website has a conversion page, website address up in description bar. ;o)
Your recipe on your website doesn't match your video. Can you tell me which one is correct? Your video says 3 fourths pint of milk and 3 eggs, but your recipe on the website say half pint of milk and 2 eggs. I want to make it but not sure which recipe to go by.
How many times exactly are you required to stir it? 6 or 7? I would just like an exact number. I know you mentioned every 15 minutes. I just wanted to know hoe many times x15 minutes.
Jack???? This is a very OLD recipe, handed down through my family - and the recipe itself was actually written out on an old scrappy piece of paper and referred to imperial measurements, not metric. Kind of quaint, don't you think?
very nice!
That looks good!!

Oh...I only stirred it about 3 times in total once it had gone into the freezer.

Lol...I agree, chocolate is better than....well, better than most things.
Is it the eggs that give it creamy custard texture?

Please become my second new mom !
I LOVE chocolate !

Because, I don't own one - and I don't need one... And since most people don't own one, I wanted to show how it's easy to make by hand...
so easy! no ice cream machine!
is it okay if i didnt add eggs?
Well, as my mother keeps saying "what do you think we did before ice-cream machines, before rice cookers, before slow cookers????" Lol...
Thank You - needless to say, in a house of teenagers, it didn't last long.

Mmmmmm, ok I hope I don't get too much flak for my question...do you know any vegan recipes?
why don't you use an ice making machine?
Pffffft....payback is a biatch.....you're just lucky I think you're kind of cute...in a guitar-playing, U2 copying kind of way.
