I would stongly advise people to practice this manoeuvre in shallow water with another person to assist if needed and with a properly fitted life jacket. I was not wearing my jacket with the leg straps in place, after 3 successful remounts in chest high water I went out a little deeper. After falling in water the life jacket rode up above my shoulders making it almost impossible to remount the board and I could not breath. Fortunately my wife got close enough to steady my board and I clambered on. This is the closest I ever felt to drowning and I was a windsurfer for 15 years with alot of swimming experience. This was a very humbling experience of how you can get into serious difficulty very quickly. My lesson learned wear a suitably buoyant life jacket for your size correctly and really practice to remount with an assistant close by if it goes wrong in any way.
Also about the falling into the water, don't try to save yourself from falling off the board every time there are times when you can easily balance it off but if you feel like you're already starting to fall jump off further away from the board some people think they can just jump away slightly and catch the board with their hands right as they hit the water but dont do that, you're just risking falling right onto the hard board and it's not gonna be a comfortable landing you could even break a rib or something and getting back on the board will be 10x harder with a broken rib, especially if you're alone and have no one to help you. Jump so you're 100% sure you won't fall onto the board, wear a leash and just swim back to the board. If you're not so confident about your swimming skills then wear a life vest, sometimes water gets in your nose as you fall and if you fall and accidentally inhale the water you got a big problem. And if you paddleboard in cold water get a neoprene suit and a life vest because falling into the cold water is definitely gonna put you into a shock and you might not even be able to breathe air in. Paddleboarding is a safe sport if you fall you're not falling on concrete like you would in a lot of sports you'll just get back up but you gotta know how, if you're new to paddleboarding you should just try to jump in and climb back onto the board because some people think it's very easy to climb back on and then they fall off 300 feet from land and what you plan to do after you realize you're pretty far away from land and can't get back onto your board, especially if you're not in warm water. Don't be afraid that it's something hard to learn to climb back up it's very easy but if you have no idea how to do it and you're far from land you're probably gonna have a problem that's why you should try it out in shallower water 1 or 2 times and you're good to go, and also if you're gonna do it in "shallow" water make sure to check if it's not too shallow 😂
I actually would suggest that getting back onto the board should be regularly done. And I would try to use the centre handle in the left hand grabbing the opposite side with the right hand. Then in the same way with legs just kick firmly and hardly and simultaneously pull yourself on the same way as this. I intend to practice this - on the 16th April.
in Northern Germany one drowned, he fell off the board and tried swimming back to the lakeside. Before he advised his friend to take the SUP with him :(
Get a wetsuit mate dont know why so many people will not put one on if you are a bit worried about how you look wesr a teeshirt over the top of the wetsuit they keep you so much warmer in the water tou can pick them up pretty cheap i use a half suite in warmer month and my full suite in the winter i paddleboard all year round and never worry about falling in wont go out without a suite on nowadays
Could I get into this the same way I would a canoe from the water? I would grab a canoe from the back end and just pull up I have done this dozens of times
I had a fun time one day watching some heavy set gals trying to get back up on their boards they rented. I think it is safe to say that neither ever succeeded in doing a pull-up in gym class.

Thats good advice! Thanks for sharing that
Good advice for some who might panic.

Good demonstration and good explanation. Thank you.
you could also try from the stern, push down the board and crawl on it like a seal
@@foxlima sooo much easier from the side
Awesome video . Thanks. First time on SUP today and things like this are so much help ❤
This is going save someones life 🙏 great video 😊

I have the same board. I love it. I use an electric pump to pump it up.
She does it perfectly. I don’t want to watch myself trying again and again like a stranded whale 🙈

I would advise the the oar get tossed. I've seen injuries of people falling off and still gripping the oar 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Starfish fall im feeling is going to be my move.😊
That was very helpful, I was trying to get up with my knees and I couldn't and almost panicked cus the water was so cold

Bonjour, qu'elle taille de planche pour femme 1 m 78 et 58 kg pour ballades en lac. Longueur largeur et forme du nez de la planche. Merci !
Sans the handle, that's the same way to get out of water when ice breaks below you.
Do a demonstration when the board flips over as well
bu gerçekten çok önemli bir bilgiydi teşekkürler ❤
hahahah the way she felt off, great performance!
That’s a great life jacket, what brand is this?
What about getting on from the back to avoid flipping the sup
What are you going to grab into? Seems like more trouble just get on from the side
Could I get into this the same way I would a canoe from the water? I would grab a canoe from the back end and just pull up I have done this dozens of times
Whats the vest she is wearing??
It looks like some kind of life vest, just thinner
What size is that board?
dude sounds like a football commentator
A huge amount of paddle boards don’t have a middle handle, but just feature side handles. Surprised you didn’t show how to get on both styles.
How to get back up with a pregnant belly?
Step 1: have the baby
Step 2: wait until it's 18
Step 3: have it lift you over and kick it out of your house 👍

The way she fell 😂

GYYYAATT!!!

And now get a qr waist belt for the leash.

This is wrong. Get up on the rear side of the board. Is much easier.
No kick just muscle up on to the board. Don’t be a sissy.
Mit einem Arm schaft man das auch 🙄

If you cant get back on your board without watching this you shouldn't be on a board at all
