      The first part about GP's special (and damn precious and accurate) advice and the Stockton's hair to Watson's 21 y/o self was damn great and funny.

      Yes but that story is a lie. Gauranteed.
      Theres many reasons why i can prove he was lying.
      A story from that guy is like a story from kerr or rodman .. thaey make up stories in thier own head and tell em to others ..lying through thier teeth the whole time.
      Just the facts.
      He tried to low key make himself famous by having a Stockton story.. but one of his own imagination.

    Stockton is the all time leader in assists and steals. In other words, he was the best at getting the ball to his teammates...and also the best at taking the ball from his opponents. How gangsta is that.

      Jeff Hornacek tells a story that in the first practice with the Jazz after being traded there, JS strode up and asked where he liked to get the ball.
      Dude got it to Jeff perfectly almost every time. That's elevating your teammates master class!

      Bird stories are just the maximum masterpiece of its NBA genre so it's unfair, but John Stockton stories are way up even compared to other great ones.
      The great Wilt Chamberlain knew what was up.
      No wonder that people like Sir Charles and GP were wary of Stockton's impact.

      I like Chris Webber's story best where he tells the rookies to watch for the baddest man on the Jazz.

    Funny how kids still think Stockton was sorry.
    I specifically remember in 94-96ish, I was in middle school, there was not a black kid on the court who thought Stockton would beat them 1 on 1. I hated Stockton cause I’m a Sonics fan. GP was my hero, but I was like Stockton would tear you UP! They didn’t believe me. Kids of all types still think they could’ve beat him 1 on 1… just cause he’s white and hairy 😆😆

      He still plays pick up games at Gonzaga, and he STILL smokes the college players because he has such a high IQ, and knows that it is all about the fundamentals and NOT about putting on a show.

      Everyone who played against him said he was dirty, but it was because they couldn't stop him.
      Hard play was not appreciated by the prima-donnas of that time. When he set a screen, he SET A SCREEN. He set players into screens like nobodies business. And when he set a screen, he held his ground instead of using a small bump and peeling off.

      He wasn’t going to pull up from distance, he was going to compress the court basically to the free throw line and then destroy you from there. Stockton is a legend for a reason and I’m glad we get these first hand accounts of how cold he was.

      The three point line in college is closer than the NBA 3pt line. He meant that Stockton wanted to fairly close to the basket before initiating the offense, typically a pick and roll with Malone.

    If you take away speed, hops, etc, and just leave basketball. Stockton is on top. He is already on top in 2 of the major 5 categories EVER. Played like 20 seasons and missed like 5 games. All the while playing HARD.

      ​@@gnielsen07 How important is the dribbling bag? Kyrie rarely cracks the top 50 in a given season in assist to turnover ratio. I think his best season was 2014 and he was 49th in the NBA. That and I don't think he is even in the top 75 all time in assists.
