Not necessarily, Billie is a great singer and the best thing to happen to the mainstream music scene in quite a few years. I'm not a huge fan of the instrumentals, but the lyrics, melodies and songwriting qualities are on top

I can't stand the "peaking distortion" that the album track has and your "correct" distortion allows her to keep all her rage expressed versus say how an acoustic version from her might not.

I know the they used that distortion effect as a stylistic choice but yeah, I didnt really see how it added to the song at all.. its actually a compression effect rather than distortion but sonically its similar.
I really just like to add “my” personal style of metal (which actually isn’t always so “heavy”) to songs that I think could sound interesting with it.
This particular songs isnt so far off from its original version but again, I wanted to add something rather than take away.
