    There are TONs of shade loving natives. Solomon seal and false Solomon seal are perfect for the shade. White bear sedge loves basically full shade high bush blueberry likes shade
    Ferns, the shade natives are boundless ❤

    Thank you for such an amazing presentation and giving some guidelines to a novice like myself. I live in Ontario and we share the same native species.

    What makes a plant native is not moving it far. What makes a plant wild is not breeding it so as intentionally to preserve or exaggerate traits appearing in a variety within a species. Two different things: native status and wild status. A cultivar that hasn't been moved far is just as truly a native as a wild variety that also hasn't been moved far. It's wrong therefore to refer to wild varieties as "true natives" since what we're talking about is how wild the plant variety is, not how native it is.
