I'm pretty sure you want the snow sliding off your panels, hard to make electricity if the snow can't slide off.

I can see how you would want this when it may fall on a vehicle, or people. We have solar. In Utah. The snow on one of the sections slides off onto the deck, but it's winter, and no one is on the deck, and it's a hardly used area. It seems like an earthquake if it's a large amount of snow. I then go out and shovel it off the deck. My wife happened to catch the "slide" on video. You do not want to be underneath it.

If the slide is large enough, it can take off the gutter as well.

Hello, I am a newcomer to America and I want to work in the field of installing solar panels. I want to know what companies I can work for in the state of California, or I want to know where to obtain the certificates that qualify me to work in the field of installing solar panels.

Is that normal for the clamp that holds the solar panel onto the roof to look like that at 2:31 of the video? Looks crooked and not very secure. it also looks like it smashed the standing seem of the metal roof

I am confused why is this a problem, all this is going to do is keep the snow on the roof for longer potentially turning it into a block of ice that might jump this device (be intresting what how it goes)

Snow on a roof acts as one big mass. Anything underneath it creates a hold for the whole mass. This retention system just holds it in place until it can melt off in chunks underneath.
S5 has a pretty good webinar about it although it's like an hour long...if you're into that sort of thing :)

@@solargoat it's sort of what you sign up for on metal roofs (and solar) to begin with and to safely shed the snow as it builds, rather than sitting up there. I see some asphalt and a metal roof install both on this video, so maybe expectations vary, but metal roofs already should be shedding that same snow, and this likely wouldn't be new? I guess if people install solar in a place where they do NOT want that, then it isn't a great location to begin with for solar, and this is the next best option? I'm use to mountain locations with a 12/12 pitch roof and metal that is supposed to shed snow up here in Idaho, and having massive amounts of snow come shedding is by design and my most frustrating places is where there is something blocking that from happening, then you end up with 18" of built-up ice/snow and then in spring, as it begins to rain/melt, it gets SUPER heavy...the last thing I want is something preventing that shedding. But probably not as much danger of build up in SLC...

I hope you are having a good time!
Your content is fantastic, and you have a good amount of subscribers {32.3K} and views, but here are some problems.
Your SEO score is very weak (10% out of 100) and you need optimization for better results. That’s why your video is not reaching more and more people. As the views increase, so will the benefit. I think your UA-cam channel will make your dream come true.
