I have a foil Entirely Normal Armchair in my DnD Dungeon commander deck. I will always leave a small part of it visible if I sneak it in, and I encourage my opponents to survey my board before attacking. I really hope the next DnD set prints more traps.
It's really fun to include die rolling forgotten realms cards into a cube with willing test subject since it doesn't specify the size of the die you are very likely to roll 4 or highers on a d20. It gets wild when you include fun stuff that let's you roll additional d20s
Whenever Graham gets to 100 pack openings, I'd love to see him make a commander deck out of all of his picks. He'd have to cut 30(ish) cards mind but he'd have a pool of 100 cards of tomfoolery to use for his pleasure.
Watching the PPRs is always great but they have been very welcome 2nd-monitor entertainment during the past few years and the Unstable PPR is the highest of those because of how much fun shenaniganary goes on during that one
The TINIEST correction for anyone checking the comments - Artifact isn't a Supertype, it's a Type. Supertypes set rules against them, but no card can just have a supertype, it needs a regular type. Supertypes are: Basic, Legendary, Snow, Ongoing (this is just on Schemes), and my personal favourite - World
Since this is an un-set, it's probably relevant to note that Host is also a supertype. Much like Basic, it doesn't set any rules by itself (a Basic Creature - Rat would not be Relentless Rats): it's just relevant for other cards to hang onto. There's also a secret _seventh_ supertype: Elite. This appears on some Hydra Heads in the Face the Hydra challenge deck, and just means that you take 2 damage rather than 1.
Due to silver-border and Challenge Deck only, aka not standard black border magic, those aren't technically official supertypes, but you're right as it's an un-set I should have mentioned at least Host. You're right that 'Basic' doesn't get past the 4 of limit (though IMO it should it would be cleaner rules), and that in a vacuum it doesn't add any rules, but as you mentioned, other cards hook onto the 'basic' quality, or non-basic quality where appropriate
Basic *does* actually have inherent rules, it's just that those rules only apply to Basic Lands and not to Basic cards with any other card type. See 205.4c (and also 100.2a, 903.5d, 903.12e).
Fun fact: Hangman does not make you actually play a game of hangman. You only confirm the letter guesses, you do not give them position, which makes it much harder to actually guess. Edit: The oracle text does say that it mimics a game of hangman, and that if a letter is guessed that appears multiple times, then you should fill in all instances. However, it also says that writing out blanks is optional. For the spirit of the game, you should probably treat it as a regular game of hangman.
Nobody seems to have noticed that if you're playing Side Quest, *you* are a player in a silver-bordered game you can see from your seat. Not even Wizards! (There is no Oracle text confirming or denying that you can pass the creature to yourself- I just checked.)
My favorite part about Overt Operative is they took the cartoony "Birds flying over the head of an unconscious person" and replaced it with a contraption of several origami birds spinning over someone's head.
Drafting Contraptions was always interesting, since you could cherry-pick the bonkers ones. Just make sure you had enough Riggers to reliably get them out and you could smash face with a pumped-up unblockable double striker with surprising regularity.
I don't think I've played more drafts in a shorter amount of time than when Unstable was released. I think I played at least 6 drafts at my LGS on release weekend. Good times.
Well this isn't the first time Entirely Normal Armchair was talked about by Graham in the Moonbase, that would be at Desert Bus 2017 when it was spoiled.
Playing the Armchair is soooo much easier when your opponent is also playing a game on their phone. After the second time I got one of his creatures with it, he decided he should pay more attention to our match.
Greetings Graham, loved this pack opening, unstable was my first time playing an upset and watching this brought back a bunch of good memories. Thanks for the smile today
9:19 you have the power of GOD at your finger tips and you chose to watch INFLATION? Also cool to look back on unstable to see how later black-boardered sets have done cool things with stuff from unsets. As much as it’s a tricky system, I’m glad that unfinity is going to be a black-boardered set with some “silver-boardered” cards
Unstable sort of went past me when it released. And not for lack of interest; obviously the Un-sets don't last long in the store. Fortunately I did get my hands on a few 3-pack draft packs.
While it's unfortunate none were opened, it's better for Draft that there are more hosts on average, as you can play those on an empty battlefield but not augments.
i'm still pissed off about contraptions because they blew the steamflogger boss joke in probably the only context where it wouldn't be funny. it's just frustrating that they set up the joke so far in advance and then blew it the one time it wouldn't work. like "we made a wacky silver border mechanic!! that's what you wanted right? this is satisfying??"
I'm not sure what you're mad about. They'd said since the beginning that it was a joke they never intended to follow up on, but were pressured by people to try to find something. Future Sight shared the intent of Unsets as a method of experimenting in weird mechanical areas, so that actually makes it a natural fit. They specifically made Contraptions borderless and not Silverborder so that they could be reprinted in the future to make them legal in constructed formats.
@@Mordalon regardless of the intent or design decisions that went into it, paying off stormflogger boss in a set where they can do anything they want as long as it's funny is a worse joke than "stormflogger boss doesn't do anything". even if they printed contraptions in black border (which i hope they don't, they don't play well) they already blew the reveal
In my experience, the armchairs are more valuable the fewer people know there is an armchair in the pool, so it’s always a first pick for me.
Or, you can be the one person whose looking out for armchair after you passed it and it got second picked

I'll just end up rolling more nat 1s than I did in my last campaign.

New Beejander variant.

The Unpacks are always interesting in terms of creative design choices.
You know you make a good point G. Time to go watch that PPR again.

That's only true if someone has put R&D's Secret Lair into play. The errata specifies that you have to play real hangman.
You probably should just play it like hangman, yeah

I only got the "Willing Reenactment" joke once it said "Normal Reenactment"
I realized the second time that you said PPR, not PBR which is normally how I make my drafts with friends more interesting
0:34 The people playing had fun. Serge and Paul were having aneurisms.
Always a good time on the crack a pack :p
Unstable was such a fun set and I loved it.
Adorable Kitten + Mer-Man = Adorable Man
My favorite part about Overt Operative is they took the cartoony "Birds flying over the head of an unconscious person" and replaced it with a contraption of several origami birds spinning over someone's head.
unstable was SO good. I would love to play it again
Thank you Mana Source for the Shahrazad game. It was so perfect it almost felt scripted, but the reaction confirmed it was not. 11/10
I think this is the most ofensive "greetings" I've heard on this show... Loved It 😂
The PPR for Unstable was very good, can confirm. Y'all should check it out if you haven't yet!
Engagement for the engagement god!
Will always like and support Un sets

I loved the mechanics of this set. The best part was ignoring all of them and first picking steel squirel. Then let the painiacs come to me.
Well this isn't the first time Entirely Normal Armchair was talked about by Graham in the Moonbase, that would be at Desert Bus 2017 when it was spoiled.
Would have been great if when the shot went from the closeup on Entirely Normal Armchair back to Graham there was second chair, just barely in frame.
I love Unstable. I wish the host/augment system was more flexible because it makes them useless in cube unless you warp the whole cube around them.
Well I have some GOOD NEWS for you because Mutate exists.
Yes, I have plenty of mutate in my cube. I also have a bunch of augment that I can’t really put in there.
My Hangman word would be "jazzily".
Overt operative is one of my favourite cards in the set
Playing the Armchair is soooo much easier when your opponent is also playing a game on their phone.
After the second time I got one of his creatures with it, he decided he should pay more attention to our match.
I appreciate that the spider monkey has Reach (because it is a spider, you see).
Overt Operative and Dokuchi Shadow-Walker, a ninja who doesn't hide and a ninja whose skill is being big.
Really thought (/hoped) that Graham you begin the episode with "Greeting you rules lawyers" :P
the inflation station makes me uncomfortable
I always played the Armchair under my land. Never got caught.
Mer man, not a merfolk. Sure.
3:38 so this seems good with the D&D set, because it doesn't mention it has to be a 6 sided die
As a Elder Scrolls fan, I hear "mer-man" and just think of a Breton...
Just to satisfy my curiosity to see if these crack a packs make a dent in your backlog it would be nice to get an occasional rough backlog count :)
I wonder if Cam gets flashbacks whenever he hears the word "shaharazad"
Greetings Graham, loved this pack opening, unstable was my first time playing an upset and watching this brought back a bunch of good memories. Thanks for the smile today
Unset****not upset
@@dempseyjohnson5962 why not both 🤣
the correct word to use for Hangman is always Fhqwhgad (singular form of Fhqwhgads)
I think jazzed is a good word to secretly pick with Hangman
I mean, there does exist another English word that is the same as “jazz”, except that you replace the A with a less common vowel…
Hangman is even better, because the controller may activate it's ability, then he or she targets a player who guesses the letter/word.
9:19 you have the power of GOD at your finger tips and you chose to watch INFLATION?

Willing Test Subject is a lot more powerful after Forgotten Realms introduced d20 cards
Easily my favorite PPR.
Random question. If you played a Commander game with an Unset, how would that look?
Wow james cagney references. Really reeling in those younger viewers.
Also is that shellephant and knight of the hokey pokey on side quest?
Unstable sort of went past me when it released. And not for lack of interest; obviously the Un-sets don't last long in the store. Fortunately I did get my hands on a few 3-pack draft packs.
I legit used that armchair, and it was beautiful.
Unstable is almost 5 years ago 😳😱🤯
You can repeat yourself any time. It only gets funnier.
I have a full box of these lands, maybe I should sell erm...
I liked Mark's subgame against you more than the Shaharazad play

Don't ever call me or my host a dirty rat
Yoooo, never been this early.
Crack! A! Pack!
Graham describes Hangman as if it's some cute little spin-off of Wordle, and not like...a game that has existed for years and years and years.
Do you like squirrels?
Woo
Do you actually get the creature from Side Quest back? It doesn't say.
"until your next turn"
It's only 'until your next turn.'
So you do get it back - unless it dies on the sidequest.
It says "until your next turn".
@@randomsword10 Thanks guys, I somehow missed that.
getting a little annoyed that graham keeps opening hosts but no augments. Come on past wizards, why can't we get the good stuff.
