Chess is a bit different because it never involves odds, its complete player agency, whereas with say Black jack, neither the house nor player have control over the cards, so manipulating the odds is seen as unfair as it remove a big chunk of the luck factor (though that's casino logic, realistically, its just to let the house keep their money)

I was wondering Sora as well for some of these restrictions. But they honestly never really play him, Hop hates fighting him and is bloody awful at playing him normally :D. I think Cogger has probably played Sora twice at most.
