A husky-voices battle would be vanilla on vanilla. What I love about this track is how it showcases Kim Taehyung's soulful-jazz feeling for music. It's a jazz waltz, isn't it? It reminds me faintly of Miles Davis's All Blues. This is the kind of surprising, masterful stuff that makes BTS unique. It's courageous. It jumps cultures and eras. Its roots, in late forties through early 60s jazz, are referential without being reverential, if you know what I mean. Taehyung vocally and rhythmically "dances" to this music without allowing it to wash him away. He still brings Taehyung to it. What do you think about the musicality of the Korean lyrics? That's one of the things that keeps me so involved with BTS's catalog. Hindi/Urdu and Korean both have more soft consonants than English does, and more diphthongs. The aural textures are amazing to me. I can't always distinguish sound changes precisely. But I do feel the textures, and I seem to always have a deep interest in learning how to hear better.
V is my bias (favorite) so I like anything he does, but this is my absolute favorite solo of his. I love your idea of doing a mash up with 'Girl your worth it" these 2 songs would sound incredible together! I listen to BTS for the singing and dancing, but I really enjoy hearing your perspective about the musicality even more so than the singing. It is making me pay more attention to the music instead which is also amazing all by itself. Thanks!

I love this song it’s my favorite solo song by V, “Lie” is amazing as well (probably my favorite solo song) . When musicians or producers listen to Lie they normally really like it. The music of it is unique. All of them have amazing solo songs. Jimin and V have a great duet “Friends”, their voices go so well together.
