በአካል አይቶ የሚጠይቃቸው የለም እንጂ ስለዚያ ትውልድ ምን አንብበሃል? ምን ታውቃለህ ብትሏቸው ጫፍ ይዞ ከመሮጥ በቀር ምንም ግንዛቤ የሌላቸው ሰዎች ናቸው! ያሳዝናል!
በዚህ ዕድሜ መፀፀትና ንስሐ መግባት እንጂ፣ እንደገና አሳፋሪውን የወንድማማቾች የግድያን ታሪክ ለማሳመር መሞከር ነውር ነው።

As some who finished high school under the Dereg I am fascinated about the political parties who fought each other for the betterment of Ethiopia. I learn a lot from excellent NBC Tv program. I live and watch the Tv program from western Canada, Thanks a lot

It was for the worse, my dear. They were bonkers, utopians, and unrealistic fantasies fanatics. Regrettably, i was one of them . Upon reflection now, I sometimes bang my head against the wall, how I was decived, and how many of my compatriot genuis yougesters of the time were perished. Worse is when some of the remnants (as seen here) come out and speak about it as if it was patriotic cause. Just mindless still now as they were by then ( a moral fault). I am 72 years old, and I have seen it all.

I disagree on the notion they were fighting for the betterment of Ethiopia. That generation was trying to implement a foreign political concept they did not adequately understand themselves. We now know none of that borrowed political system even work for counties they broowed it from. Even the failed ethinic ideology we currently have is the product that came from that generation. They were ego driven and I know it all characters. They put their personal feeling and ego ahead of the interest of the nation. They were too young and hot headed. Derg was killing them while they were killing the Derg. They were just over taken by the Derg. If they had the upper had, they would have turned killers as the Derg was.
The worst part is the politicians that came after did not learn from the mistakes of that generation.
The guy we have in office today is probably wose than the 60's politician. The fact that he couldn't learn from them makes him worst. Abiy is as egotistical as those that came before him. That's the tragedy of Ethiopian politics.

Ethiopian university students of the 1960's were the one who set the ground for the present political problem of Ethiopia. First and foremost, communism, the philosophy of EPRP, TPLF, and OLF is not a science which was falsely claimed to be. Next, atheism is the belief of communism which is antithetical to religious society of Ethiopia. Thirdly, these communists denigrated Ethiopian heroes and their achievements by aggrandizing communist thinkers. In short, the philosophy of EPRP was a detriment to Ethiopian people.
These groups had also supported 'national struggle' upto secession by blaming Amharas as 'chauvinists' creating animosities among the ethnic groups, particularly between Amharas and the rest of the ethnic groups.
In addition to the lie of scientific socialism, they falsely named the student movement a 'revolution'. In addition,these communist groups lied that Ethiopia has industrial workers while the factory workers of Ethiopia were less than 20,000 and majority of them were seasonal workers, alternating seasonally between the factory and their farms. They were also more than 75% illiterate. Many of these groups claimed to be a party of this group. They used to boast about 'International Proletariatism' in the absence of cooperation with the rest of the world. At home, these communists were based on fantasy world of their own making.
Moreover, they moved to enemy lands of Sudan and Somalia and waged wars against their birth country causing deaths and destructions to their home country. It is unforgivable crime and treason.
In conclusion, the wrong philosophy adopted, the lies fabricated, and the crimes committed by communists had wreaked havoc on Ethiopia, and still those wrongs are haunting the country. In light of these facts, they have no achievement to celebrate or to be proud of. In fact, the time should have been reflection time; time to do carefully consideration to fix thoughts, admit wrongs, give lessons, and set a good example for the coming generations.

It was also Amhara students who were mainly behind the uprising and who paid the ultimate price for the false revolution, and their descendants are also being persecuted until now.
