*Absolutely love this thing. **Fastly.Cool** and air purifier perfectly this machine We set it up in the low air circulation basement where the dogs hang out (man cave too) and it made a HUGE difference in air quality.*
I very helpful review. I've used the predecessor called "fornuftig" and i liked it, but this looks significantly better. This came at the perfect time. Thank you. It covers a bigger area, the auto sensor was something the first one lacked, the noise level + 5 different levels instead of 3 is also a bonus. Would still love to see some tests instead of just a bunch of numbers on Ikea's site that many people probably don't understand, neither do i. The filter cost is one of the biggest bonuses with these Ikea air purifiers as well. I was about to purchase one til i looked at the price for the filter. Can't wait for the full and more in depth review. Again thanks.
If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!
Is Auto mode and Child Lock exposed in HomeKit like the Vocolinc? If it bundles the sensors and the air purifier in a single Home app tile, you may have to drill down to the air purifier in the accessories details (e.g. long press unified tile > scroll or tap gear for device settings > Tap Accessories > long press air purifier tile > scroll down)
If I have the device but not the traffic gateway is there another way to see the air quality detected? Also what would you recommend in this situation? Just leave it at auto mode?
So you tell us the dB but to us who don’t know what that sounds like, you could have gone into more detail about whether that’s annoyingly noisy or not?
ikea generally makes pretty long lasting electronics from my experience. i remember buying one of their cheap yellow alarm clocks and it lasted around 10 years before i got rid of i threw it away
Why you do a review if you can't share time-tested experience about the product? Air purification performance test results are the main reason for purchasing air purifier... What is the common between this review and the product landing page on the official website? You both just describe product not a reviewing anything!
I bought one and think I might return it. Cost too much and can't really say I notice a difference. Plus this scored really low in Consumer Reports test.
I don't want wifi or Bluetooth devices in sleeping areas so can you tell me if the wireless communications are disabled until you click the button to link it up? Or is there a simple way to disable that part completely/physically? Thanks
@@HomeKitAuthority well that sounds quite promising! Have you checked to see if it’s turning on and off at the right times? Like checking what the air quality is when it turns on and off?
Not even showing the purifier and it's noise levels in operation makes absolutely no sense for a review. No remarks on CFM or on filter life. Also: What is so difficult about the pronounciation of that thing? Combine "stark" and "wind", done.
It is mentioned in the video that child lock can only be activated from the app. In fact child lock activates by a long press on the main dial. Cheers

Hi
What’s your opinion about the IKEA purifier now after 2 months of use?
I very helpful review. I've used the predecessor called "fornuftig" and i liked it, but this looks significantly better. This came at the perfect time. Thank you.

I really want one, waiting for your review on the actually air purifying side of it as I'm a tad worried it won't be that great

How long till the full review is out? Lovin the reviews!
You said its made from mdf. Its actually not :). The board is made from plywood with vinyl and the legs are made from massive Wood.
Dislike reviews that skimp
Material
Table top: Plywood, Tinted clear lacquer, Oak veneer, Tinted clear lacquer
Leg: Solid birch, Tinted clear lacquer
Cover/ Lower body/ Fixing plate/ Knob: ABS plastic
Skeleton: Galvanized steel
Really great overview, can’t wait to review it myself and start improving the air quality in my home!
Hope you enjoy it!
Is it a good air purifier tho?
Hej! What happened to the follow up review?

Yes it is
Can you actually feel or smell the difference in air quality?
Great overview, looking forward to adding one to my HomeKit setup.
Thank you!! You should get one
There is also an additional carbon filter available which goes in first but is not provided by default
Also the top IS indeed solid wood

From where the table sucks on the air from the front the back or the bottom?
Would this not use the same sensor for the auto mode that is found within the very much maligned IKEA Air Quality Sensor ?
can you pair it to a hue bridge instead of tradfri gateway instead like pretty much all other tradfri products?
So you tell us the dB but to us who don’t know what that sounds like, you could have gone into more detail about whether that’s annoyingly noisy or not?
Does the product itself have an expiration date? i know about the filters, but does it or do you think you can keep this for years and years?
It’s very hard to determine the life span of any electronic device. But as far as I am concerned it’s a matter of changing filters

does the fan ever turn off in auto mode?
Answer is no but it's extremely quiet.
Absolutely love mine.
Its a nice product for sure
How is the noise on this thing? Considering buying one. Cant find any performance reviews out there…
Air purity has got to be pretty subjective. How do you plan to test?
With a air quality sensor placed in that room
@@HomeKitAuthority Cool. It does look great. I'd probably just leave it on auto myself.
I have been waiting for this one for so loooong 😊
finally arriving
Same thing your mother said about my BBC.

This would be nice for my reptile room.
Can it be used without the legs?
yes. the one without the legs is like $100 cheaper
I bought one and think I might return it. Cost too much and can't really say I notice a difference. Plus this scored really low in Consumer Reports test.
I cant find this online or instore, did they remove it from market ?
They was in my local U.K. store last week
Can I ask what brand the acoustic panels behind you are?
Here you go - amzn.to/2ZNya2p
How did you buy this? I dont see it available on the store?
Don’t think it’s in the US Store yet sadly! Looking to add 2 to my home!
UK stores from tomorrow and US unknown
2 of each colour left in Gateshead store, need to ask staff for location ;)
I don't want wifi or Bluetooth devices in sleeping areas so can you tell me if the wireless communications are disabled until you click the button to link it up? Or is there a simple way to disable that part completely/physically? Thanks
Just to make sure, there is air sensor on this machine?
Yes
Yahooo no steering button, thank goodness 😄, nice video John 👍
Thanks 👍
So I assume if you set it to auto you’ve got no need to do anything in HomeKit?
Correct, I have it in auto most days it just does its thing
@@HomeKitAuthority well that sounds quite promising! Have you checked to see if it’s turning on and off at the right times? Like checking what the air quality is when it turns on and off?
@@michaelthompson657 part of the testing for the full review
@@HomeKitAuthority cool 😎
what is the point of a purifier ?
I wish something in the video had given me an idea of how big the device is. I would have liked to see the device next to a chair or something.
Good feedback, I will do this in the main review
Thank you
Latest prices £55 for DIRIGERA and £199 STARKVIND
The top looks like ply wood not mdf
Thanks for the information
Is it a EPA-12 filter as previous Ikea air purifier, then just garbage...
ohm kit
Reino unido esta en Europa, aunque no les guste,

Interesting, but possibly the ugliest home tech product I’ve seen in a long time, no way would I have that in my house.
