Welcome Brigitte ) first time I heard her sing 2020 🇨🇦let me just say this to you..The buck stop on Morissette. I have not even understand how good she really is. Learn lots from her loyal fans since the beginning 12 years .
Of course! Apparently we've only scratched the surface.
Her covers of Never Enough, Rise Up and her original Akin Ka Na Lang on radio station Wish 107.5FM are absolutely stunning.
And then, there's her original EP which you might want to check. There are 5 original songs in that EP, all outstanding.
I've been a fan of Morissette for a year and a half now, and she's a world of her own. She can do so many styles better than the original artists with her 5+ octave range, warm rich timbre, precise vocal control, ability to do power belting and soft intimate passages with equal facility, very subtle and tasteful runs and riffs, and last but not least, her signature squeak. My main problem with her is that I now can't listen to other singers without immediately noticing that they're not as good as she is.
I think you gotta look at music in different levels. Performance, technique, feel, artistry, composition, etc. Not one artist is good at all of it.

Ridiculous.
The "Mori squeak" is the vocal break heard around the world. Some others can do it, but not as effectively, both into and out of notes while never losing pitch. In "Secret Love Song", she does it over twenty times, but you never tire of it, because of her perfect placement. To hear a growl fest, her "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw" is the ticket. Both you and she are breathless at the end.
It’s amazing the control she has over her voice.
That is why other vocal coaches says Mori is really up there with Whitney & Mariah 😅 she ate that song! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I love, love , love Morissette's "I Wanna Know What Love Is" and "Stone Cold", because they are so fantastic, and Mori executes them to perfection. I have to admit though that I probably listen to at lesat 20 of her other performances more often than the 2 you have heard so far. You are truly just beginning to scratch the surface on Queen Morissette's unbelievable talents.❤❤

There are only a handful of singers that can do it but I haven't seen anyone do it the way she does.
Morisette is a vocal beast and her live performances soaring high above any other singers as years passed by

Bruh, you hit every detail right on the money! Exactly our reaction the first time we heard her sing this. For me, I didn't know where to start. Having heard singers through the years she's the best one I have ever heard! The little things that's really really difficult she made it look like its part of the whole, that its never a challenge. Mind boggling good!

Great analysis! I would think the best song to start the Mori journey would be ‘Akin Ka Na Lang’ on wish 107.5 bus. Well, at least that was the song which started mine! Despite the dynamics and techniques that she is well known for, the main trait for me is her timbre or tone, whatever you call it. I’ve never heard any singer that sounds extremely soothing be it in their lower range, in whisper tone, in belting, growling, squeaking, let alone whistle tone.
Her very light tone is prevalent no matter the technique.

I think you got that wrong in saying that there is a lot of great singers out there, theres only 2 that i can think of that have full control of there instrument and always put it to the best use possible, that is the brilliant MORISSETTE AMON LAMAR from the Philippines and SOHYANG from South Korea, these 2 are far and away the most brilliant vocal technicians who both can sing the phonebook, there are many reasonable singers out there but none quite like those 2 masters of there craft, the only 2 ARTISTS that i hear that can overdo it without overdoing it 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.
I think they are more so outliers. I feel like raising the bar to this level is being disingenuous to actual talented singers out there. Mori is incredible. But on a scale of 1-10 she's like a 15. Not really fair.

She’s good to react to and thanks for that. Also when I add character or attitude or be playful I also do that side lip thing cuz it makes the cords grab differently and thus creates textures.
