I own a Honda 928 snowblower. Also 2 Honda generators. These Hondas are the best power equipment I have ever owned. When my neighbors are bogged down with their big-box sno blowers, I am already finished with my driveway ! My Honda 3500 Watt generator still starts on the first or second pull and I purchased it in 1989 !!!! Honda is the best .....no argument !!
Nineteen years ago, I bought a (gently) used 624, and still today I would not sell it for twice the price I paid for it. Everything this guy said about Honda snow blowers is totally legit, even blowing snow into your neighbor's yard. It has required so little maintenance, and we get regular (significant) dumps of snow.
I just replaces a 2019 Ariens Rapidtrak 28" Professional with a 2023 Honda HSS1332ATD. We get between 150 and 275" of snow per year were I live in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The Ariens had major failure just after the 3 year warranty expired. All drive gears, drive bearings, and the sheet metal housing surrounding the the drive system had to be replaced. My dealership pressured Ariens to help out with the price of the work. I had a bill, but I was very happy with my dealer going to bat for me. That was at the end of last winter. I cleaned up one big snow fall on May 3rd and put it away for the summer. First snow fall this year was 30"+ inches. I helped my neighbors clean out first and then tried to finish my place. At about the five hour mark I heard gears skipping. After pulling the rear cover on the Ariens, I found my trans-axle broken and about a cup of gear dust on the bottom pan. The next day I took an hour and a half drive to buy the new Honda HSS1332ATD. That dealership may be good with cycles and such, but they sure suck at snowblowers. I had to spend an hour adjusting the cables and the auger engagement lever to make it stay down when the the drive lever was engaged. The Honda has 4" wider cut and a 31cc smaller engine than the Ariens. I was worried that it wouldn't throw as far because of the width and smaller displacement. I was wrong. The Honda throws at least ten feet further. It ate the 5' drift in front my garage door like nothing. I knocked it down with a shovel to help out. The electric chute let me put the snow exactly where I wanted. The gas strut auger height control gave me the perfect down pressure for various conditions. This is much more useful than Ariens 3 positions. I didn't miss the hand warmers with the Honda on a 3 hour use in -2 to +4F temps. The Honda needs drift cutters for the amount of snow we get. Honda's system is fixed and isn't versatile enough for my needs. I installed Husqvarna cutters. They bolted right on and they telescope out of the way when not needed. Time will tell how the Honda will hold up. The Honda is less work to use than the Ariens. I'm 5'8", I could see a taller guy getting a sore back with the low height of the Honda.
I have an older HS928 with direct electric starting and electronic chute controls. For the first few years it was completely trouble free. This unit predates the steerable version, so I was hitting the handlebars pretty hard with my hips to steer. First bit of maintenance was a cracked handlebar. This was fixed by welding in reinforcing sections and has not been any problem since. Second problem was moisture entering the chute motor that caused it to fail, replaced that, fairly expensive. Next the augur bearings were failing about once every five years so regular replacements needed. And this year I had to replace the auger housing assembly. I can’t blame the snow thrower for this failure - I just pushed way too much gravel through the machine and that eventually punctured the auger housing in the vicinity of the impeller. I bought a used housing for this fix. Now I no longer live where I am pushing gravel all the time, so I expect this housing to last much longer. And I have replaced the drive belts and shear bolts from time to time but that was expected. The engine is a different story. It is a GX 270. I have done regular oil changes and occasionally checked the spark plug but other than that it has had no maintenance and it has always run perfectly. I did a few mods to this unit. A shutoff valve replaced the drain plug to make oil changes easier and later heated grips to keep my hands warm. The other thing I added was an aftermarket tachometer/hour meter so I could verify/adjust governor settings. This machine was worth every cent I paid for it when I purchased it new at what I thought (at the time) was an exorbitant price.
I live in NL. Looking to get one of these fine machines. My neighbors driveway is about 50 feet from my driveway. Right in the direction ill be throwing the snow. This is my onlt concern right now. Also. 24" or 28"?
The chute angle is fully adjustable with the joystick, so you're just as able to avoid throwing snow in your neighbour's driveway as you are able to throw snow in their driveway. Choosing between the 724 and the 928 essentially comes down to how many passes you want to make - the 928 has the extra power to more than cope with the extra snow it has to swallow and throw.
When you're adjusting the auger height you're also raising and lowering the height of your grips, which may cause the handles to appear lower in the video than they really are.
I got a Honda mower and the transmission broke in a year. Couldn't make a turn without the wheel locking up and ripping the grass out. Never again. They may make great engines, but the engine is only part of the equation.
With both levers pulled, a modern Honda track drive blower easily rolls in neutral. We're not recommending you roll it down the road while walking the dog, but they can most definitely be moved when necessary.
You know what else is synonymous with honda? Zero product availability. You can't buy a god damn thing they make here in Alaska. Absolutely had it with this company.
Great for homeowners but you’re not if you’re doing commercial snow removing. The whole entire operation is slowed down by that dumb automatic robotic shoot control. By the time I switch from left to right I could’ve washed my car done my taxes and written a five page essay
Well. Honda paint quality is awfull on cars. And far worse on their snow blowers ...You will have to repain the fan housing on a yearly basis if you do anything very clean fluffy snow.
HELL NO NOT WORTH THE PRICE!! Honda versus Ariens in Toro I love how people try to compare the Honda 1332 to the basic Ariens 28 deluxe show in basic Toro. comparing I think a 13 horsepower engine The Honda, to a 8 horsepower engine!!! Of course the Ariens boggs down a little bit. The brand new 1332 I think cost like just under $3,500!!! The Ariens is about Like 1300!! Go ahead and buy the best Toro track which is the best or the Ariens track IT WILL BEAT THE HONDA FOR 1/2 or 1/3 OF THE PRICE!! The parts are more available for the Toro and the Ariens!! Much easier to fix, Don't break down as much!! Cheaper to buy parts in the parts will be available forever!! Honda makes good snow blowers but they're grossly overpriced!! YOU'RE TALKING ALMOST $10,000 GET THE HECK OUT OF HERE 🤣 Repairs are so costly very complicated stuff. IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE TO MOVE SNOW IT'S NOT A CAR OR BEING RACED ON A TRACK.. IT'S A SNOW BLOWER 🤣 All those features that this has you really Don't need for snow blowing. That machine is the same price as a used car 🤣 AND FYI TORO'S QUICK STICK WHICH IS NOT POWERED BLOWS AWAY THAT MECHANICAL SHOOT 6 DAYS A WEEK AND TWICE ON SUNDAY.. ALL THAT MONEY FOR THE HONDA IT STILL DOESN'T HAVE THE SAME TECHNOLOGY AS THE TORO BASIC MODELS THAT COST $1,300 Toro's ingenious anti-clogging system, The amazing quick stick, And let's not forget no shear pin technology for the auger. That's right You never have to worry about breaking shear pins with the Toro.. The engine shuts off if you hit something hard, or ice etc remove the problem Start it right back up It's ingenious!! I just don't get it. If you're rich and you want to dump money all the power to but it's definitely not worth the price when there are so many other products that can do the same thing.. Cheers

Rob the you tube star!!! Hope all is well, still slicing bolts over here!!

Honda blowers are with you for the long haul!
NOTHING BEATS A HONDA SNOWBLOWER! Nothing. I bet my my life on them.
How do we feel about an HS724 Track drive for $800? One owner, looks to be in great shape, non ethanol gas its whole life.
I like how these are marketed as how much more you can outdo or of how much of an A double S hole you can be to your neighbor lol

LOve Honda snowblowers
Yes I paid twice the price of some crap brand many years ago and glad I did
Honda reliability is the best..
Right in your neighbors yard😂
The handles look low, how well does it work for a guy 6'3" tall? Do they make taller handles for it?
When you're adjusting the auger height you're also raising and lowering the height of your grips, which may cause the handles to appear lower in the video than they really are.

Nice but the shoot is slow and the newer ones are not the quality they used to be.
Tempting...
Its not the dress rehearsal just go get one
No you cant move it around without starting it up
With both levers pulled, a modern Honda track drive blower easily rolls in neutral. We're not recommending you roll it down the road while walking the dog, but they can most definitely be moved when necessary.
😂 its a ca2005/6/7 Honda hs 970 with electric chute rotator thing
@@melvinthemechanic Time to upgrade?
@@centennialag too expensive😂
@@centennialag just got it from a friend . Before this i had a 90s snowblower 5hp tecumseh so a good upgrade from that
So buy a Honda to screw with your neighbour.
