The song Ashford was singing is a version of Sam Hall a song about a chimney sweep "that robbed great and small" and was hung for his crimes, originally Jack Hall who was hanged at Tyburn in 1707. In the 1840s the song was rewritten and performed on stage by music hall singer C.W. Ross who changed the title.

If you go back to Season 1, Episode 1, you'll Chrisjen interrogated an OPA smuggler who got caught with stolen stealth tech from Mars. She was trying to find out who was behind it, as her biggest fears were 'people throwing rocks at Earth', and 'Mars sharing a toothbrush with the OPA'. Now both of those fears have come to pass, and the mastermind behind that original plot is finally revealed: Marco Inaros.
I don't think that's correct. It's there to show that OPA factions are very interested in obtaining Martian military tech, especially stealth composites. But that is not where Marco's faction obtained MCRN stealth tech. That smuggler likely was not part of Inaros' faction. ********** SPOILERS for S5 and S6 of The Expanse************ The source for stealth tech for the Inaros OPA faction is the Laconian conspirators within the MCRN, led by Duarte and Sauveterre. Their conspiracy formed AFTER the opening of the ring gates at the end of S3, and especially after the discovery of the abandoned ring builder shipyard in orbit of the planet that would later become Laconia. This faction of conspirators within the MCRN saw the writing on the wall as far as the future of Mars, decided to seize the advanced alien military tech and use Inaros' faction to sow chaos within the Sol System and paralyze the governments and militaries of Earth and Mars so that their conspiracy could make its move and safely "turtle" in the Laconian system until they could figure out how to exploit ring tech. Bobbie's hand terminal had an important Chekov's Gun for the future. I figured Esai was dead when they showed his family and made him sympathetic. I think Murty's trip back to Earth was a cycle of beat-down/auto-doc, beat-down/auto-doc, beat-down/auto-doc all the way back. When Avasarala wrote her message to Nancy Gao, she was sitting at the ornate Resolute Desk. The Resolute Desk was build from the timbers of the old British exploration sailing ship HMS Resolute. British Queen Victoria gave the Resolute Desk to US President Rutherford Hayes in 1880. It has been used as the Oval Office desk by most US presidents since then. The tradition of the presidents is to leave a personal message to their successors in the desk as they leave office. That's what we see Avasarala doing here. Season three contained two book conclusions, so it's impossible to beat. Season one had no book conclusion, leaving it the least satisfying at its finale. Your discussions continue to be very interesting. Remember when Diogo was on his uncle Mateo's ship? Mateo had been listening to an OPA propagandist talking about hurling rocks at Earth...that's what gave him the idea to toss his rocks at the Martians.
I disagree re Murty. Amos does not hold grudges. He punishes someone, then moves on (Miller)/(Clarissa). Most Importantly, Holden Would Not Allow continuous torture.
The greater the human population and the higher the state of development in terms of urbaisation, road building, power generation, intensive agriculture and so on, the more vulnerable Earth's civilisation is, because it just means that there is less and less environmental redundant back-up. So smaller and smaller disruptions are required to destroy civilisation and trigger population collapse and even species extinction. But the problem on top of that is, the huge disruptions are still going to happen on the geological schedule - supervolcano eruptions, large asteroid impacts, mega-tsunamis and whatever Black Swan events I've forgotten.
Ashford didn't shoot, not only because Marco's son was there, but also/mainly because Filip is Naomi's son. Drummer told him that Marco was the father of Naomi's child.
Galaxy spanning is a bit of a stretch. I'm pretty sure the books said the 1300 systems were all within the same general area, a couple thousand lightyears or so.
Yeah I always assume everybody in the show is older than they look - even the belters who supposedly have a shorter life span than humans now. It's clear that people live longer, but even the belters probably look younger than they really are - they might have shorter life spans on average but people's ability to look younger and life more of their lives without disability or illness is probably better, the shorter average life span is probably mostly down to belters dying young doing dangerous work and frankly murdering each other. Chrisjen is probably like 80 years old or something, Bobbie is probably late 40's, Niaomi is probably late 30's maybe even early 40's - though they do say they had Filip young, who knows what counts as young to have kids in the belt.
This season 4 has grown more and more with each pass, they foreshadow so much. The only thing that bothers me is that the writters can only imagine a form of goverment that it's a total copy of the US presidential system. I know that it is an US series, but it feels a little bit disappointing that they can't envision another kind of democracy than the USA's presidential one. BSG did the same thing btw.
The UN does not have a US presidential system, though. It appears to be more of a hybrid system. Merely having the senior executive elected by popular vote doesn't make it the American system. There are other countries that have popular votes for the senior exective even though they have parliaments.
It's like... 200y+ after today. There is a huge probability that the UN system takes a lot from the previous major governement of the faction that weighted the most in the world before the unification. So... It's not a question of imagining a new type of system, rather than describing how this corrupt and complacent system was born through the US one. It's a whole critic.
Being whisked away from the debate by security sans explanation didn't help, but the point at which Avasarala really lost the election was in the debate when she fell into Nancy Gao's trap, favoring the status quo over much needed change. When the line for anything is so long that you can literally die of old age waiting your turn, the line is too damn long, and it's past time to explore new options.
honestly, though ... i don't understand why ashford didn't go ahead and pull the trigger on marco. surely he knew that marco would kill him, so why not just shoot? it would have given him a better chance of survival and taken out the system's biggest threat at the same time. the decision to just ... not shoot just confounds me. it was so unlike ashford to me. (p.s. i love this show with my whole life regardless of any questions i have, so there's that, lol)
(and, also, that would deviate so far away from the story lines in the books that it would never get back to them. i mean, birds gotta fly, marco gotta be smarmy and sleazy and last for another two arcs)

Great avatar
Get ready, ladies! Because shit is about to shit the fan!
Where is Better Call Saul? :c
Hahaha one of the funniest thumbnails of the channel🤣
I see Better Call Saul 6x9 was so impressive that you forgot about next 2 episodes 😂
Why is Amos the one always getting shot?
Can't wait for season 5!!!
I adore your wonderful reaction my lovely Lola and Milena!! 🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️
この話はほんと泣いた
Look at you guys.. fawning over Marco Inaros 😄
You need to check that guy who called Bobby a Bitch from the elevator ;)
Based on your Amos predictions for S5, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Did y’all stop watching the boys?
Yeah I think they said they were just too busy. They will return to it at some point though.
It will be such much more interesting from now on, love it! 👌😊
Next season is my favorite!!!!!! 😭😭😭
you are going to love season 5
I miss the BCS reactions 🥲
Better Call Saul?
Damn, you guys really like that show. I see this comment so often on almost every other video.
I've been checking every hour or so! They're two episodes behind now
@@_zurr not only do we like it, its turn should have come some time ago, and they have not uploaded, just expanse and fullmetal
I'm not done watching s5 yet, so yall are gonna have to slow down :D
honestly, though ... i don't understand why ashford didn't go ahead and pull the trigger on marco. surely he knew that marco would kill him, so why not just shoot? it would have given him a better chance of survival and taken out the system's biggest threat at the same time. the decision to just ... not shoot just confounds me. it was so unlike ashford to me. (p.s. i love this show with my whole life regardless of any questions i have, so there's that, lol)
(and, also, that would deviate so far away from the story lines in the books that it would never get back to them. i mean, birds gotta fly, marco gotta be smarmy and sleazy and last for another two arcs)
because Filip would take Marco's place, and nothing would change at least until mid season 5.
@@elkapro6534 well ... yes and no. the asteroid storyline would still play out. i can't think of ways to debate the other plot points without spoiling the upcoming reactions for these two beautiful and smart women ... so maybe i'll see ya after they wrap season five. 😏
Better call Saul!!!
Are u guys having problems watching better call saul? I'm eagerly anticipating your reactions to episodes 10 and 11
Imagine Ashford shot Marco, so Filip would have to take over for him.
So much crying coming in S5 and 6
would be cool to react "(The Expanse) Drummer and Ashford | Live as a Belter" by zurik23m
They should react to all the zurik23m Expanse tribute videos
@@Cbricklyne Their tear ducts would be broken but I agree
"Bosmang Camina Drummer - THE EXPANSE - For Beltalowda!" if you haven't seen it already 👌
where is BCS?
Season 3 was amazing but, honestly, season 5... If there was a season 8, that might beat it, but for 1-6, 5 is my favorite, but very closely followed by 3. I can not wait.
Berserk 1997 please
Season 2, Season 1, Season 3, Season 4, Season 5, Season 6 for me. Character building is not what I am looking for in a sci-fi show.
What about bcs??
Vacation...
Through YT clips I've developed a real respect for Mike. Not so much for Slippin' Jimmy. For all of me, I'd love a spin-off series: The Ermantraut Show. Just wall to wall Mike, with occasional cameos by BCS regulars.
Better call saul???? 💀💀💀
Ok, you're already two episodes behind on Better Call Saul. None of the other shows matter.
They’re on vacation. They explained in a previous episode.
@@ryankm4056 But they're doing other shows...
@@rong2912 these episodes were filmed before they went on vacation.
Quick style wedding dance reaction please please!!!!
