I need to listen to this again, maybe a couple more times. Or I could read his book! It's exciting to know that Jewish understanding is creeping into the Christian world.
Thank you for doing this. It was AMAZING! I found a more in depth You Tube interview with Dr Moffat that just came out that goes even farther. Truly head exploding. Thanks again for introducing us to him.
Thank you for this interview! This is so exciting. I read F X Durrwell's The Resurrection thirty years ago, which included an analysis of the Resurrection in light of Hebrews and Yom Kippur. That book changes my life. So great to discover Dr. Moffitt's scholarship. Can't wait to dig into his scholarship.
Melchizedek means “ruler or king of righteousness” a line/order of priests who are appointed by God not by genealogy but by a heart of obedience to righteousness. I’d love to hear him have a conversation on this topic with Sean Griffin from KingdominContext. They both teach similar atonement theology.
I have enjoyed the work of Ron Wyatt's but the one thing that I could never accept was the belief that Yeshua's blood flowed down a hole to drop onto the ark of the covenant (hidden below ground) to make 'atonement' - I just can't support the mixing of the Levitical with the other order being confused.
You said “ supersessionist” about 100 times, you don’t think it would be a good thing to define what you are referring to for those people who may not be so theologically well versed as you to understand the discussion? You have to make these videos accessible to the common person, otherwise honestly you are missing the mark. I appreciated the deep discussion and will buy the book, thank you.
There was no atonement at the Cross, Jesus changed the old covenant to redeem himself as Hebrews 9:12, and by the Spirit enter heaven as Hebrews 9:14, and is in heaven as the Mercy Seat, being both sacrifice and high priest. The temple was symbolic of Jesus as judge, but not his death on the Cross. I have a Ytube video 'Atonement. Is it salvation? No. #29 Myths in so-called Christianity', and atonement is promised at baptism with reconciliation into the church and covenant for sanctification, Jesus is our judge who perfects those who are sanctified.

You should definitely buy the book (definitely 100% not a recommendation with any bias or conflict of interest... ;)
Awesome. On this subject I also recommend interviewing Dr. Andrew Rillera on his book Lamb of the Free. Great stuff!

So much here, thank you!
