This is amazing. Children learn by making connections so I like to ask the children an open ended question like, "what does this letter remind you of?" they are typically eager to answer and make connections with people or things that mean a lot to them.
Thank youuuuu soooooo much Vanessa! I personally asked you about teaching the alphabet to preschoolers! Love your " precious " videos and appreciate the effort you're putting in to it. Looking forward to part "2" 🌷⚘🌷⚘
We should teach them letters by their names that's what she meant?? And if it wasn't their mother tongue how they will understand the meaning of letter.... Can u explain for me please
Im a homeschool mother and i enjoy your videos, they really help me understand my children. My almost 5 year old still confuses the words "letters" and "numbers" .. He will say letter 5, or number B lol.. So thanks for helping me relax i was wondering what i could be doing wrong...
Do you have a video about how to teach the alphabet in its Entirety I’m thinking Showing the letters What is a letter The abc song The names of the letter The sounds of the letters How to write a letter How to identify the letter How to put it on order with the alphabet I need help my daughter is starting kindergarten next year and she needs to know this before going into class Please help
Great question! You can teach sounds and letters at the same time. When it comes to writing letters capital letters are easier for young children to write, but if you're referring to recognizing letters then they can learn to recognize both cases at the same time. Print appears in the world arounds us in both cases.
So...how to you handle teaching what a letter is when you have pk-4 students that were with you for pre-k 3. 4 out of 6 of my prek-3 students that are returning to pre-k 4 know all 52 letter names and sounds. I will get kids that won't even know what a letter is next year. . I am afraid the old students will be bored or even start behaving inappropriately
It sounds like you've done a great job with your students! Your situation sounds challenging, but I've never taught a mixed-age group so unfortunately I can't be of much help.
It's much easier and more effective than teaching a letter a week. Here's another video on this topic you may find helpful: ua-cam.com/video/HnP-Y05tpTg/v-deo.htmlsi=-VOMTak0hYc_qaMm
