Was the previous girlfriend not considered worthy of complimentary adjectives too? Was her darker hue in comparison to the current one seen as a deterrent to similar phrasing in reference to herself?

All I can say is this "new" dancehall music is too much like "rap crap!" I loved the original reggae artists and saw most of them in concert in the 1970s and 80s--Jimmy Cliff (my favorite), 3rd World, Yellowman, Peter Tosh (RIP), etc. Sadly I could not see Bob Marley--he never got close to my state with his concerts. Also love Steele Pulse, Burning Spear, Black Uhuru, and UB40! UB40 is British I know--but pure reggae music! And Sly & Robbie. Also in MN there was Shangoya and Ipso Facto--both great local reggae bands! There will never be bands that will surpass these reggae legends!
