You know this car has it's power from about 2.000rpm to 4.000rpm? Best shifting between 3.500rpm and 4.000rpm. Depending on temp and height. And it has that cool "pre-launch-control" feature. Step on the clutch, hard on the gaspedal, release the clutch and off you go. I did 8.5secs in my A3 (same engine)
I will answer u...maybe u get your answer untill now but a diesel have the maximum power at 3800-4000rpm ..when u shiftin like that at a 5000 rpm u kill your engine slowly ..a diesel it's meant to be and stay where he has the best torque...around 2000rpm...4000rpm is when he makes 140hp , then it's over...u need to shift the gear before 4100rpms ..at 4200 rpms u have no torque and no power...it's a diesel for god sake, it's not meant to be a best acceleration machine
I have the same but have some problems so I will like to ask you a few questions if not a problem. What is your average diesel consumption? How much is idle when a car is warm to normal temperature? Mine is bouncing between 800 and 1000. Thanks
You are totally right. In fact it is clearly seens how whn it goes beyond 4500 the car slows acceleration clearly. At 5000 indicated, the car doesn't accelerate at all, the speedo needle almost stop. On these TDIs, it is better to change up at no more than 4200rpm
A3 tdi c'est a 4200 tours maximum pour changer les rapports en montant a plus de 5000 tours tu tue ta bagnole gars c'est pas un essence pour monter autant dans les tours!
0:29 - 0:38 I wish more people had a brain to realise that u beat the Manufactors claim which is around 9secs. Changing at redline clearly gets better results! Nice driving, thanks for the content!
You sir can not drive a Manual diesel
Right
@@CurtF94what is wrong about it? (Have no car yet, need to learn)
@@bleachdenty3759with most diesels, going beyond 4000-4500 revs is useless, there is no more power

Your shifting gives me anxiety.

Do you also have 2,500rpm limit before take off??
Shift at 3800rpm, not 5000 :O

Well said. This is a good car, but what you just said is simply a fact.
I remember my first diesel
Surely your turbo doesn't push you all the way to the redline without a remap lol, shorten them shifts for the turbo
it's almost like a launch control ;) i have a seat leon 1.6 tdi 105bhp ecomotive thinking about upgrading to the 2.0 tdi 170bhp fr

average diesel consumption on my 2.0 TDI DPF BMM 4-6 Liters per 100KM. Idle also when its cold about 800 rpm.
the dsg is quicker but has shorter gears. ive got an A3 TDI and its quick does 50mpg manual anyday

What are you doing? You want to lose a second on each gear? So, that is correct shifting.

Oh that poor valve train
does it really suffer that much?
Too many RPM! ... You have to change gear before 5000 RPM...
4000 rpm max power, beyond that just revs for nothing, ....
nosphy diesel=change at 4500rpm
granny shifting
Shift sooner and you will accelerate faster

Un diesel après 4000tr/min ya rien ça marche mieux de 1500 a 3500tr/min
All depends I've had mine staged 1 mapped and had it changed so the turbo runs right to the limiter
