We traded our 2011 GT500 in on the 2014 GT500 and before I left the dealer, they warned me that there was a HUGE difference in the two.i said," yeah right"! I left the lot got out on the road, and boy I was in for a ride.the throttle is so sensitive. First thru third gear and the tires will spin effortlessly. I had to spend alot of time getting used to it.i have no regrets.i love this car.
This 2013 body style was the best body style of the new day mustangs those tailights are badass and i love these type of headlights instead of the newer skinny headlights. They ruined the 2015 mustang trying to make it look the iconic 67 mustang
662 horse in the rain wouldn't be fun on a commute, especially not in stop and go areas or stop and go traffic. even the previous gt500, the dealer told me people whom bought them complained that the wheels would spin out from stops too often. for a daily driver you want something that is suitable for that use. what is funny is I can go around youtube and find people whom claim that all american muscle cars are good for a straight line, but the s197 will out manuever a lot of cars on the road even with the live axle. people online seem to not know anything about cars they cannot afford nor will ever drive.
Little trivia: All 4.6 and 5.4 modular motors, SOHC and DOHC use the previous 5.0L mustang engine's firing order. However, the unique thing about the old 5.0L was that it was the only one that didn't use the standard 302/289 order, this was due to the special "5.0 H.O camshaft" unique to the mustang and Mark VII that actually uses 351W firing order (same deal with the explorer 5.0L, uses the stock 94-97 351W truck cam). When the mod motors came out in 1991, they made it the standard for them. That being said, this is first new 351 or small block V8 period in a new mustang since the 70's that used its appropriate (351W) firing order (1995 Cobra "R" as an exception) by sheer coincidence. Only setback is that the new 5.8 is built by the Romeo plant rather than the Windsor plant, otherwise it would've been complete.
MegaRami92 so? there's no joy in driving a 500+ hp muscle beast in which you can't shift the gears yourself. I don't care if auto's can shift faster than a manual, manual will always be better and more fun to drive
Then it won't be a GT500 anymore... it'll just be another mustang. That's like giving the viper an automatic transmission. takes the whole point of the car away
WHY are people arguing against mustang and camaro you guys need to really grow up and see the fact that these cars are up against European cars not each other!
+Jonathan Washington True, car enthusiasts are not brand loyalists. You enjoy all vehicles for what they are. Its dumb for commenters to call this car trash because they are a GM fan.
I have the GT500 in the grey with black strips and added the custom Ford racing exhausts. The sound is wicked. You can hear the car coming 6 blocks away.
I am from Wisconsin, I’ve watched your videos since 2012 and I’ve even went back and watched all the old ones too. My dad bought a 72 C10 from RK motors in Charlotte last spring and he just bought a 403 mile 2013 GT500 from RK motors in Charlotte as well!! Awesome how many videos and reviews you have done on this channel. It seems u have a excellent review for everything!
I drove one of these for a night on my b-day as a gift on behalf of the Ford dealership my GF works for, and for the money nothing compares not a z06 not a porsche 911 not a GTR nothing. The sound is just ridiculous the ride is very low compared to most american muscle cars. Those recaro seats are very comfy. Surprisingly the gearbox was just right very smooth and overall it would be a very good dd. The throttle response, the power, that growl!! is something you have to experience in person. A+
21 years old and I'll have one next summer after school is paid off 😁 will I do any upgrades? probably not. this car is enough power for me. I may put bigger tires on the back but other than that, nope.
this car is absolutely awesome in every conceivable way. i don't give a shit what anybody says, i would take this car over any european supercar any day.
Interior looks great on the entire new gen 2010 up GT500's, exactly what we want to see. Certainly not what you find in a new Porsche but neither is that expected. Perfect look. Perfect power.
I respect your opinion and BMW does make great cars (nobody is arguing about that). The Shelby is just a great performance option which is easily modded to hang with super cars and in stock condition does quite well already....not many cars can match the performance with the price...
Great car, awesome sound.. but seriously? A long ass antenna on the right? What's up with that? But oh well, I guess when you're buying a Shelby the antenna won't matter :D
Correct but I doubt it don't think it will be any more powerful than the Shelby. Ford already announced that 2014 is the last year for the big v8. Im happy I bought my 2013 GT500 before they are even harder to find.
I heard some things about twin turbos as well but I personally just don't like the idea of that. I prefer to leave the Turbos for imports and stick with either N/A or supercharged engines for American cars. Especially a classic like the Mustang.
It's funny, I was watching the German BMW, Mercedes and Audi, it's funny how with those, you don't have to take the key even out of your pocket... And there isn't some laggy animation upon the screen turning on.
Germans are much better with electronics and luxury. I don't see why Ford even bothered with a screen in theirs if they can't get it right and people only buy this car to have insane power.
ibrahim ehrarli Well, german cars only need 500 hp to reach the same velocity and acceleration. And they still can drive round a bend. Because they have shock absorbers, not leaf springs at their back axis... Also, they don't use cheap plastic for the interior, plastic of the Kind that FIAT use in their cars back in the early 90's...
U dont care about what ur personally looking at all the time? Ouch ur one of those wanna be show offs. Who pretends there way richer than they are. A Poser.
Another option for you. Consider trying the Roush stage 3 Mustang. It's cheaper than the Shelby, has the 5.0L rebuilt to lower the compression, has a 2.3L supercharger (upgradeable to 2.8L or 3.2L) and has the suspension already upgraded for the track.
It gets 18mpg city and 24mpg highway. I think that is pretty good to be honest with the amount of power/performance it has. You don't need to be higher than 1000rpm to putt around town. I actually have been getting around 21mph city by driving normal on the city streets...
I don't know what to tell you. The 3 track comparisons I saw was that the BOSS handles great on the road course, but when comparing the Shelby on the same course it always ended up faster due to its greater power. Sure you can mod the BOSS to reach Shelby speeds, but it is going to cost you about the same or more to do so if you purchased the Shelby in the first place. Just my opinion, unless you are at least an intermediate to expert road racer you are going to turn times faster in the Shelby.

A loaded 2014 Roush with the aluminator motor is $75,000 (not including the markups or sales tax). It is basically $20,000 more than the factory ford GT500 Shelby. Fro what Roush says the typical buyer will not get the aluminator option, but that most buyers spend $54,000-$56,000 which is the about the same as MSRP for a Shelby.
I have a manual 5.0 2014 and always have to drive in traffic. Its extremely annoying but not everyone likes to make stop and go traffic more stressful than it already is by driving a stick. And yes by far manual is more fun, but was just pointing that out. I thought about getting the auto 5.0 because of my situation
Don't know what you're looking at, but 15" rotors and 6-piston calipers are the best you can get in a production car, except maybe the ZR1. Somebody pulled out in front of me one day, and when I hit the brakes hard, if it hadn't have been for the seat belt, I would have gone right through the windshield.
We traded our 2011 GT500 in on the 2014 GT500 and before I left the dealer, they warned me that there was a HUGE difference in the two.i said," yeah right"! What’s the main difference besides the increase of power?
One of the best exhaust sounds ever.
This 2013 body style was the best body style of the new day mustangs those tailights are badass and i love these type of headlights instead of the newer skinny headlights.
They ruined the 2015 mustang trying to make it look the iconic 67 mustang
+Jalen Jackson Imo, if they re did the front with similar designs as the 67... i'd definitely cop.
I agree, the new mustang is too much of a racecar instead of a dragcar like it used to be
+Trikster1of4 the 2013-14 are amazing looking but I truly think the 15-16s are beauutiful
King Of The Cut Don't get me wrong, I also think the new gen mustangs are beautiful.
Jalen Jackson it's the 1969 mustang reborn!
15 city/24 highway...on a
5.8L 662 supercharged V8 ...wtf
has to be one of the best pro performance daily drivers with that kind of mpg.. :o
That is the best possible fuel economy. Lol That car won't be getting 24 mpg HWY for very long.
It's not the 662whp 5.8L it's a 550 whp 5.4L

Yep
A beautiful masterpiece of American Muscle! Thank you Carroll Shelby! You'll always be remembered!
This just screams America. I fucking love it!
Better than a Camaro
Greg Rogers amen
YEP

Strong V8 And manual gearbox. Perfect combination.
yes but automatic double clutch is faster than manual mustang gt have automatic gearbox and its faster than standard manual
MegaRami92 so? there's no joy in driving a 500+ hp muscle beast in which you can't shift the gears yourself. I don't care if auto's can shift faster than a manual, manual will always be better and more fun to drive

this is the bad way they stop to produce
Those rims though

That car has one of if not the meanest front end of any vehicle ever
WHY are people arguing against mustang and camaro you guys need to really grow up and see the fact that these cars are up against European cars not each other!
The sole purpose of the Camaros existence is to compete with Mustangs.
The Squid well it purposes right now is to help GM's sales.
You sir have my respect. I just love fast cars in general though. I dont care what it is as long as it looks/sounds good.

Yeah, but this would just torture a Camaro to death in it's sleep.
This and the ZR1. Simply the best of the best.
I have the GT500 in the grey with black strips and added the custom Ford racing exhausts. The sound is wicked. You can hear the car coming 6 blocks away.

For sure one of the most beautiful looking cars of last decade
Great video I wish I could own such an amazing car like that. That car is my dream car I wish i could have it.
oh how i wish this 5.8 was there in the S550 mustangs... 😭
A really nice presentation about the best Mustang which has ever been produced for this price! This driveperformance is unbelievable!
I'm proud to own a 2003 Cobra still runs as fast as this beast though, I'm saving up my pennies now to get the 50th anniversary gt500

Awesome job with your videos anyway friend!
I can't explain how sexy I think this car is lol. It's not even the fact that it's a Shelby, even the base model is so sexy to me.

perfect car
the interior is ass-ugly but God bless that engine and that exhaust-sound.
yeah i really noticed that the interior is f*cking horrible ... #americancars
It's a Shelby GT500 with a supercharged 662HP 5.8L engine NOT a Benz for gods sake!
I love the interior. It just looks good to me.
Isaac Martinez yeah i agree idk wats to complain about'
+Midwest Speed Demon I also love the interior. it's not too much and not too little. it looks somewhat classic and you just have what you need.
I don't think I've ever wanted anything more than this in my life. I would do unspeakable things for this car...
Great car, awesome sound.. but seriously? A long ass antenna on the right? What's up with that? But oh well, I guess when you're buying a Shelby the antenna won't matter :D
It unscrews.
Do a Shelby GT350r or GT350 version pls

This Mustang GT500 looks incredibly awesome. I am 100% not a fan of american muscle cars but this just reaches the point.
imagin what will be the 2015 shelby gt500 :)
There is no 2015 Shelby gt500. 2014 is confirmed to be the last year for them. They already shut down the assembly line for them.
True, but the SVT cobra is coming back
Correct but I doubt it don't think it will be any more powerful than the Shelby. Ford already announced that 2014 is the last year for the big v8. Im happy I bought my 2013 GT500 before they are even harder to find.
Haha you lucky sob. I think I remember reading that it will have twin-turbos making somewhere around 600+, but not exceeding 662hp
I heard some things about twin turbos as well but I personally just don't like the idea of that. I prefer to leave the Turbos for imports and stick with either N/A or supercharged engines for American cars. Especially a classic like the Mustang.
Do a 2014 Shelby GT500.
2014 is the same model, just a couple of improvements.
The Smashing Pumpkins on the radio set the attitude of the car.

Chris Rawls Man what lol i would get fired to from the speeding tickets
Dude these kind of cars aren't meant for everyday driving , they'll break.
Th3lastsong then why did they make it?
Th3lastsong and sell it to the public
Could you do a review on the 2014 Shelby GT 500
that would be cool
it's the same thing
If you add kenne bell or whipple supercharger you can easy make 850hp on this 5.8l
Hmm... Gt500, Challenger hellcat srt or corvette stingray. Decisions decisions....
gt 500 act ually has a faster 0-60 time than the hellcat.
Gt500, goes over 200 MPH and sounds beastly, what else could you want?
TheDestro500 also the Corvette is a different beast all together (you know it being a roadster and not a Pony car with a backseat)

IT is because of the camera.

Probably the one car I would take completely stock and absolutely love.
real racing 3
Interior looks like a $20,000 car. It could use a lot of work.
Nobody cares about the interior
U dont care about what ur personally looking at all the time? Ouch ur one of those wanna be show offs. Who pretends there way richer than they are. A Poser.
Jyan Lan You drive what again?
Jyan Lan i rather be in a car looking like 20k and beating 50-60k cars
too much luxury = more problems
performance cars should sacrifice interior looks so it doesn't fit that category; especially to stay on reduced weight

True. Remember also it is not all about top speed. What also matters is how fast you get to your top speed.
It gets 18mpg city and 24mpg highway. I think that is pretty good to be honest with the amount of power/performance it has. You don't need to be higher than 1000rpm to putt around town. I actually have been getting around 21mph city by driving normal on the city streets...
