My father died, he gave me a PS4 five years ago. He died of lung cancer, smoked for several years. 😭 But the music is really soothing, which reminds of a gift from his father.

That was actually the reason Sony put a lot of effort into making such an awesome music. I was lucky enough to meet a music director of PlayStation and he also told me somewhat the same. It was made to make the players relax and feel the sound.
To me it feels like the era of the PlayStation 3 has ended, that the PlayStation 3 has passed on a legacy that the PlayStation 4 intends to keep, and make better as a new era begins.
I had to shut the music off because every night that i drank and played games with my friends and then they all left, i would listen to it while drunk and it fucked with my emotions.
They know you had a hard day at work and you just want to kick ass, so they made this only on Playstation to cool your nerves. Nice touch, Sony. Very nice touch.

Growing up with the 6th Gen of consoles I can honestly say the PS4 was my favorite console since that era. Love or hate Sony, the PS4 was a console made by people who loved video games and designed for people who loved video games. Gonna miss people like Kaz Hirai, Shawn Layden, and Andrew House. The PS4 and PSVita lifecycle will always be one of my favorites and I suspect it will stay that way for a very long time.

The PS4 startup is sort of meh compared to it's predecessors, but the music during the menu is fantastic. It has a nice calm, ambient, and almost mysterious type of tone to it.

Now that I’ve switched to xbox in the new generation, this pours out all the memories I’ve had with people during group chats, some I haven’t talked to in years and some I still talk to, particularly playing the games that were released around the launch of the console where there weren’t many alternatives such as watch dogs, resogun, killzone shadowfall, call of duty ghosts, battlefield 4... I’m not sad because it’s over, I’m happy because it all happened to make me the person I am today.

After being so used to other music due to other backgrounds, coming back to this feels deeply saddening. I came across it again as I went on my brothers account. I've never owned a PS4, I've been a PC and Nintendo gamer for my entire life as a gamer, but I can see how the fellow Sony gamers can feel nostalgic about this. It's such a beautiful and sad theme. PS4 is suppose to have more cinematic music than other consoles we remember from back in the day combined.

It's peaceful and better than hearing nothing(which is also peaceful) but this is something that helps me leave this world. (Like when I'm with JesusChrist) and also kinda sounds like Minecraft End music at some parts. I need a PS4
I love minecraft and true it sometimes the ps4 does sound like minecraft once i thought it was minecraft music but then i realised it was the ps4 music
Feels like yesterday when the ps4 came out, Christmas 2013, booting your ps4 for the first time, hearing this.... PS5 is 1 year away, PS4, you will always be in the gamers heart

I got my limited edition ps4 today, and I really love every little bit of it. From the design, to the music and whole layout. The music always reminds me of an old ps1 game I use to play as a kid :))
Finally found the music!!
Now that I’ve switched to xbox in the new generation, this pours out all the memories I’ve had with people during group chats, some I haven’t talked to in years and some I still talk to, particularly playing the games that were released around the launch of the console where there weren’t many alternatives such as watch dogs, resogun, killzone shadowfall, call of duty ghosts, battlefield 4... I’m not sad because it’s over, I’m happy because it all happened to make me the person I am today.
Anyone else get depressed by it?

I'm still depressed. But my depression will hopefully be cured this Christmas.
@Leppelidingo I'm not depressed, I'm just sad. Hopefully that won't last much longer. I might be playing Gravity Rush 2 this Christmas.

I'm a ps4 user and i used stuck to sony my whole life but didn't get the ps1 and ps3, got an xbox 360. i dont have ill will against xbox, i just dont like it, ps4 is graphically better atm but i dont agree with what you said. Why is ps4 is better because of music? that is like saying assassins creed unity is the best because it has a good trailer, ps4 is good but i doubt its better than xbox.

After being so used to other music due to other backgrounds, coming back to this feels deeply saddening. I came across it again as I went on my brothers account. He hasn’t played for 3-4 years on any console for now, once I went on it was sad. Especially to see all of his friends last being on “3-4 years ago”. They are all growing up and this music made it it sad. Then I remembered that I grow, and that this will probably be the last gaming, console il ever have as I won’t have time in the future. Thanks everyone for letting me have such a fun time playing with you. Goodbye for now.

I've never owned a PS4, I've been a PC and Nintendo gamer for my entire life as a gamer, but I can see how the fellow Sony gamers can feel nostalgic about this. It's such a beautiful and sad theme.
It's 2020, the PS5 is coming out late this year, the PS4 was released 6-7 years ago, goddammit...
