- In this episode of Mouse Street TV, we list our Top Ten Reasons to Love Disney's Old Key West Resort. Since our very first visit to Walt Disney World back in 2007 ( During the Year of a Million Dreams Celebration), we've dreamed about joining the Disney Vacation Club. Last Spring, after much consideration and number crunching - we went all in on DVC. We purchased a direct contract at Old Key West and a resell contract at Saratoga Springs - plus we're already looking at adding more! Now we knew exactly what we were getting into, as we've been renting DVC point for the last five years and have stayed at Disney's Old Key West, Saratoga Springs Resort and Animal Kingdom Kidani Village several times. With that said, we love Old Key West (OKW) and wanted to do a video on why we're so carried away with this resort. So today, we bring you "Our Top Ten Reasons to Love Disney's Old Key West Resort" and You are Watching Mouse Street TV!

We're Back - Can you believe it? It's been a minute or two or three since we were uploading on a regular basis. The times are changing on Mouse Street and we're excited to start sharing our Walt Disney World experiences with you again! A lot has changed in our lives over the last two plus years and now we are ready to get back to living our best Disney Life. We've recently joined the Disney Vacation Club ( DVC ) and have lots of great trips planned in the coming months. We plan to share these special vacations, as we'll as reveal some of our DVC tips for those considering joining. We'll be staying at many "New to Us" resorts such as The Riviera, Polynesian Village, and Wilderness Lodge Boulder Ridge, as we'll as old favorites like Saratoga Springs, Old Key West and Animal Kingdom Kidani Village. We loved it so much , OKW became our second DVC home resort, after Grand Floridian and before Copper Creek, our two other home resorts. OKW is sooo relaxing! Great island vibe
That is so amazing! OKW was our first home resort and since then, we added Poly and Copper Creek! OKW is our place for slower pace trips - love everything about it! Thank you so much for watching!
I am getting older - and I just love SSR and OKW - the fact that I am that close to Springs is fantastic - instead of Springs being an afterthought in the trip, it becomes a big part of the stay. The rooms are fantastic, and I love how it really feels like your home with all the apartment-like complexes. While the staff is great at all the DVC resorts, I found everyone to be especially friendly and engaging, plus had a blast doing trivia in the pool.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. I agree with everything dixielandfarm said. Staying at OKW or SSR feels like you are not staying in a hotel, but enjoying life in a polite, happy, Disney-loving community. There is just nothing else like it!

You know i have to say we love visiting. The walk from Disney Springs is very nice. We walk over and get a bite to eat and walk around the resort. The decor is very nice as well. We also love the pool. Just subscribed friends!
OKW is one of our home resorts and it's so beautiful and relaxing! We've never made the walk to our from DS, but we love the boats! Thank you so much for subscribing - we love meeting more Disney Friends!
We LOVE OKW! We've only been once but right now its actually my favorite resort. On top of the chill theming, I think the atmosphere is so friendly and relaxed because the Guests are mostly DVC Members. Everyone goes to WDW a lot so there's not that FOMO rush. The villas are beautiful and the size alone would have me go back again. I read somewhere that the resort was designed to give almost every room a water view. Our view was stunning. We used the mobile order for Oliva's and ate at "home" watching the ducks play outside. We also really loved having a quiet pool right next to our building, and the proximity of the bus stop. There's still a few resorts I'd like to try, BUT, if I had to pick one resort to stay at for the rest of my trips, it would be OKW.
Such an excellent Disney Resort video. The camera work & editing is top notch - I often get a little 'seasick' when vloggers have shaky vidoes or fast, sweeping shots. I really appreciate that you included the history of Old Key West and some facts about this lovely resort. I must admit, I am very disappointed when a Disney vlogger doesn't do the proper research before posting a video and posts wrong information that they don't correct in post-production. You had none of those issues, even your narration script was well-written. Great job all around! 👍
My first DVC stay was at the Old Key West and I fell in love with the place. We are going back in a little over a month and I have shared your video with my travel partner because I am hoping that he loves OKW as much as I do. Thank you for this informative and fun video. @@Scaloozy You will need to make a reservation for breakfast as well, since it's table service. You can also mobile order from Olivia's, if you want to take it back to your room. You don't need a reservation for mobile ordering! Make sure you try the French Toast!

Our ownership is at AKL and BLT, but we're excited to be coming to OKW in 53 days! It will be our first stay at OKW. We have a 2 BR villa, and wondering if you have any recommendations on room requests (which I know are not guaranteed). I'd like to be near close to the hospitality house if possible, just don't know what to ask for. Any advice?
You will love OKW! There is a special booking category option for being near the hospitality house, so make sure you choose this when you make your DVC reservation or you can also try sending a fax to the resort with that request. We usually send a fax on the Monday of the week before our stay with room request and had very good luck. The Millers Road area is pretty close to the HH and that's our favorite area. If you are unable to book HH rooms bld 23-29 are good options as they will utilize Pennicular Rd bus stop which is first on/off for thr parks but NOT for Disney Springs. These bldg are also a super quick walk to HH which we didn't mind at all. A bit of a tip: if you want a second entrance to the master bathroom so people don't have to go through master bedroom building 30 and up have a door to the bathroom from the laundry room. This is helpful for anyone sleeping on the pull outs in the front room.
@@ruflippingkiddingme Thank you for the tips Michelle! We utilized the Peninsular Road bus stop on our last stay on Millers Road - It was so much more convenient when going to the parks! We're going to be staying in a one bedroom villa on one of our upcoming trips, so we'll utilize the building 30 and up tip! Thank you!
@@ruflippingkiddingme I always try to stay in bldgs 23-29. I like the short walk over the bridge to the hospitality house. Close to a bus stop. Overlooking the golf course or the lake. I did not know that bldgs 30 and up have a second entrance to the master bath. This is very useful information. Thank you for sharing! 😄
