On our last cruise on Royal, our 15 year old told us a group of kids were getting drunk by drinking the drinks adults leave everywhere. Adults do leave large amounts of unfinished drinks on tables, sports court, stairwells, etc. She said that same group of teens went to the teen club drunk every night . They bragged about how to get alcohol. I always see cups every but never paid attention. The next night, I actually looked. Drinks in elevators, doorways, picture nooks, library, etc.
Adults need to be more mindful of where they put unfinished drinks.
Another utuber who worked on cruise ships talked about this today, plus underage, casually taking a drink as they pass an unattended drink.
This is what happens when adults get the package drinks if they don’t like it they leave it behind but if they have to pay for every drink they will finish it - that’s the bonus of package drink you can order as many as you want

Being extremely drunk kind of offsets your ability of being athletic and being a superior swimmer. Someone either family member or friend must be feeling guilty getting this kid drinks. Glad you're back to full time cruising. Shoutout MC Hammer!

As a parent, I can't imagine the pain of the parents of that boy that jumped off of the ship. Imagine raising your child, loving them, hoping that you did the best by them, and then have them do something so incredibly stupid while drinking. The anger and the grief would be overwhelming.

Rose Hall was completely destroyed; what you visited was a reconstruction. On our honeymoon, husband and I walked in the rubble of what was once a beautiful mansion and heard the story of "The White Witch of Rose Hall". After returning home, we received an amazing commemorative picture (compliments and without expecting and did not purchase). Ironically, years later we would experience a fire that destroyed almost everything we owned. Jamaica, One Love!

Instead of people placing blame on others or the cruise lines, it was the man's decision to start drinking and to continue to drink. It was also his choice to jump. If they do find him I hope he is sued for the rescue costs and the other passengers' inconvenience.
Exactly if you fall of a ship it’s your fault your doing something you shouldn’t be doing, I’m sorry to the family but he is more than likely gone, hitting the water from a great height can knock you out and break your bones. Sharks are a treat also, he may have been a good diver but being able to swim and keep yourself up takes a lot of energy.
Yeah, he’s not going to be found; his family is incomplete denial. That is one week of direct sunlight and exercise, but no freshwater. And that’s assuming he survived the initial impact.
you can't say it was their choice to jump when after .06% abv in your system your prefrontal cortex stops responding appropriately leading to rash and often unthought through decision making.
@@Bowling_Dude sure you can. He should be held accountable for that first drink which caused him to get drunk in the first place. His fault. Did someone force him to have that first drink? Did he not know there was alcohol in it?

Such a tragic story. Most likely alcohol induced. I don’t see how anyone could survive falling into the ocean from that height, much less surviving in the ocean for that long.

I was recently in southern Mississippi and saw a billboard for an upcoming Ludicris show. I called out in the car ‘shout out ludicris’. Got some weird looks from the fam.
We’ve tried most of the major cruise lines and have settled on Princess……. But we’re old.
I’m finding the food on Royal much better than Princess. But other that that, I agree. Princess is best. I really miss the medallion technology!

Well sharks follow cruise ships lots of sharks so I dought very much he's alive. Hitting the water from that height and speed is like Hitting a slab of concrete. That's why hardly anyone is ever found.
We just tried MSC. For reference, we've sailed Royal, Celebrity, Princess and NCL. We had great time. In our opinion, included food was on par with Royal, maybe a tad better. Entertainment was good, on par with Celebrity. Beautiful ship (Seashore), overall very good. Although...we found a lack of restrooms, tight hallways, and no "washy-washy" was ever encouraged. And don't get me started on the size of the shower, good thing there was soap nearby I could have gotten stuck! Would I sail with them again? Yes, I love cruising, loved Ocean Cay, and the price was right.

We also did the Rose Hall Excursion when we cruised to Falmouth Jamaica back in 2019. From the pictures in your excursion, it seems that the place hasn’t changed. And, we also stopped for a bit of shopping on the way back to the ship as part 2 of the excursion. It was a fun and interesting experience.

Going on my first MSC cruise in November and can't wait. All cruises are different but haven't went on one I haven't liked yet and have done many! It's all what you make of it.
For the first time in the 15 years of my cruising Carnival, I'm going to try MSC for the first time next April on the inaugural World America. I hope I enjoy it.
My kids get drunk on cruises. They are 7 and 8. The cruise staff celebrate with them while they are rocking out. Lol. They get drunk on cakes, chocolates, and lots of soft serve ice cream. 😂

I work in I. T. At a college and we set up hoteling stations for workers so everyone can use hotel station. We told employees not to put personal items in the cube.
We've been on three MSC cruises. We enjoyed each one. Since it's a European cruise line, they cater to an international crowd. Some of the food is different, but that's part of the fun!! Looking forward to more cruises on MSC (and others) in the future. They're all fun!!

Castaway was a good movie. Fun fact almost all of that movie was overdubbed because of the outside noise. They had to voice over everything due to crashing waves and things they could not control. Saw that on a documentary on the movie, quite interesting

I’ve come to really appreciate a good rolling sea when aboard. Much better than bobbing up and down in port or at dead stop. That stuff can get to you because of the chaotic movement. But rolling as you move is more like swinging in a hammock. Just have to remember to sleep perpendicular to the primary roll direction.

I'm still a little skeptical about the Bolivian issue. In my mind I think they were trying to sneak into Spain illegally. I find it hard to believe that 69 people had crap documents.😅
They could have all bought their cruise package from the same provider. The provider could have offered a fraudulent company to obtain visas and such. - all unwittingly!! Then the fraudulent papers were spied by the Spanish authorities.

In 2007 a study showed that the story of Annie Palmer is historically undetectable. The story is probably based on the novel "The White Witch of Rosehall" which was published in 1929. But the therein given character of Annie Palmer cannot be proven historically. The name could come from Rosa Palmer, who was at her time the lady of Rosehall and had four husbands. But she is said to have led a lily-white life. Nevertheless, the story about the haunted "white witch Annie Palmer" continues being told during tours of the building.

That is awful that the 69 people were taken off the ship and 65 people were sent back home.
I think the vast majority of Tom Hank’s movies have been terrific, but I most admire him for the work he and Steven Spielberg have with/for the World War II Museum here in New Orleans. I don’t believe the museum would be the iconic place it is without their interest, input , clout in its inception and their obvious admiration for/gratitude to all who were part of the “greatest generation”.

Went on two MSC cruises, both on the Meraviglia. First one was a four day right when cruising opened back up after C19. No big issues, as the ship was only about 1/4 capacity. The second was out of Brooklyn last October. The ship was about full. Totally different situation. We felt the day to day staff (cabin attendant, wait staff, etc) worked hard and did their best. But the management and supervisors dropped the ball over and over regarding crowd management, including disruption of shows by rude passengers, allowing passengers to line jump in buffets, and total chaos boarding tenders, to name just a few things. We are frequent cruisers and have been on several of the major lines. We have never before felt like we just wanted to abandon ship and fly home early until that cruise. Never again!

We sadly canceled a world cruise on the MSC Magnifica starting in January 2025 after a 3-night trial cruise from Port Hollywood to the Bahamas on the same ship. The furniture in our cabin was so uncomfortable that we found it unusable for even those few days, so 116 days was unthinkable. We were in the cabin next to the one we booked, but had no reason to presume our world cruise cabin was any better. Our friends were in the exact same suite they had booked, and had the same experience with their furniture. Come on, MSC. If you are going to sell an extended cruise, put an adequate amount of really comfortable furniture in your staterooms.

I work for a corporation whose HQ was nearby in Doral. When the cruise line started asking people to return to office our company was flooded with applicants. Ours sold HQ 2 years ago as the HQ employees are fully remote and many have left south Florida. Glad they are keeping up with times. Will likely be converted to condos.

When my daughter was 16 she went on a cruise with a much older family member. My daughter was served alcohol at any bar she went to. No one questioned her. I was very angry with the relative and the cruise line.
I have been on one MSC Cruise on the Divina. It was a great cruise, the service was good, and the ship was awesome.
