You know I'm super appreciative of this video! It's really hard. There are those who can't, even with a discount, afford the class, and need help with detail like this, but it's also hard because we want to honor Sheele, and her launching of this discovery in art. It's a tough balance. What makes it harder, is when the product can't be gotten by all that's being taught with the art. Then we other countries do the work to figure out what works the best, find it and then it's discontinued. Then it's back to the drawing board. I hope Sheele understands why youtubers are trying to help others, if you're going to launch a technique with specific products... you need to make sure everyone who pays for that class can't get those products and it have done the work to find each countries equivalent. That would keep her invention proprietary, but because she didn't, it almost has to be reinvented be each person where they live and what they can get to work. No disrespect to Sheele, but someone with good business practice doesn't get mad when a technique gets taught and it can't be replicated due to the product being unavailable to a purchaser. I wouldn't expect it. I still say, take the class, you do learn alot, but all that learning does no good without the product to make it possible for each one who pays for a class.

Eggshell and semi-gloss are my favorites too! Lisa I loved watching your experiment I’m going to try this on a canvas and I will mention you. I’m going to use a blow dryer to move the paint. I can’t wait to see what happens! I will be posting it on my other channel Lisa Fluid Art Add Color to Life. 🙏🙏🙏
I just finished comparing 4 pillow paints and wasn’t happy with any of them. I only had theGlidden used for samples and the results from that were sending me to check out the Glidden essentials. I’m so happy for your test and don’t worry about the length of the video. I wish it had been slightly longer so I could have compared them all together. My impression was that adding the glue yielded stronger cells. I need to look at it again, but it looks like the Premium is the winner. I missed Shelee’s video comparing US paints. I’m heading out to find it now. Thanks for sharing all of your work!!!
Such great information. May I ask about your cell activator. Do you know a substitute for the Watco product. I’m in the US and have never seen that. Thanks.
I use PPG multi pro from Behr and I put some GAC 800 in it and I find it's thick .. however if I swipe or blow spin the cells are beautiful like stained glass however when they dry the cells are not as crisp as they were when wet ...so I think it's because the pillow is to thick....no one has been able to tell me if that's the problem...also my pieces come out more watercoloring looking I like that but I want more cell looking ....can you tell me if it's because the pillow is to thick?
Glad you luv to experiment for us. FYI. If you don't use shower cap for top of spinner wal mart has a bag of 15 and each about 15 cents. No real clean up. I also slip one on bottom.
So what was the ratio of paint to floetrol. Also if you use Colors To Go from SW, do you need to add Floetrol or do you use it right from the container?
Again, 3 years later, I’m curious if a satin finish makes any difference with eggshell. And is the Behr Dynasty any more stretchy than the Behr Premium Plus, Ultra Pure White? (Mine is satin finish)
Just watched the video and have 1 question... for the CA you used Austrailian Floetrol - for us in USA who have the Floetrol we have access to- do we still just mix 4:1 with the Amsterdam paint or do we need to add something else ? I think this video is EXCELLENT !!!
Hi Lisa, only took me 4 years to find your experiment, haha. I am a beginner so this may be a silly question. Whenever I see about bloom people add color to their pillow paint. Did you add color or did you buy it white? Thanks!
I just happen to have a $55,00 gal of an ice blue door and trim satin, that I didn't like ,when I got it home, but to use as a base to complement many colors, I will use the floetrol, glue, and water,as,that worked with an behr oops satin 8oz
So many ways....have you tried just the color place satin in white from Walmart? I have seen several use that without having to add any floetrol for the pillow paint. I used to do it your way and without Australian floetrol, didn't have great results. Also, check out older videos for blooms from Kanella Ciraco. She is up there in Canada too and had great results. I think so many ways to do these, makes your head spin. Thanks for sharing!!!

I have Behr Premium plus deep base 7300 which I think is suppose to be the base. Why is used there and not in the pillow or used in the pouring medium? What is minwax polycrylic?
