Not knowing much about the hobby I'd say that's a decent price. Bottom line is if you're happy with it then it's worth it. It's like my knife collection. A $200 knife does the same thing as a $20 knife but if that $200 knife makes me happy it's worth it.
Well we should just get rid of reviews, no need to compare against anything else, just if it makes you happy, we should just have videos about what makes everyone happy, no need for price comparisons or how well it performs, all that matters is if the person doing the review is happy with it, hell with the review,no need to be informed, bottom if someone is super happy with the worst RC truck made I don't want to watch that crap, not saying the Maxx is the worst but this review definitely ranks up there.
It’s pretty, and I don’t think it’s too terrible of a deal. But the Groms, those are just a blast and a few bucks less. Much more portable and convenient for quick sessions. And to me, that’s what small scale is all about.
Agreed. This thing is a lot of fun, but the Groms are just so good and a great deal. Especially the new 3s ones. I actually have a Rlaarlo ROG1 on the way to check out also. I know nothing about the brand but kept having people ask me to check it out. I noticed they're releasing a new mini buggy too.
Yeah, I can't even give these things half throttle on my little track as it is. I do have a nice big portable ramp coming that I can use to really put these things to the test.
I bought mine yesterday but it's under the Christmas tree, I have my x maxx until then. Can't wait for a little backpack basher to go with my buddy and my old 1/16 e Revo
@@TandTRC I would say it's feels a tiny bit bigger but in the same scale range. Definitely bigger than a 16th scale slash or rally. More like a 16th summit
@hayden199516 I've blown 4 diffs on 2s with the e revo but I have no ce ter diff as I got the base version to fit a full size brushless system in it. The mini revo is lighter so after the rpm arm upgrade I've only broken a center driveshaft and a few diffs. It's done huge gaps and lots of flips. Offroad bashshing it's too low and the tires don't have enough grip. This is where the mini max will shine. I've seen people break both chassis in half 2nd day but I've been fine. The one thing with the revo that is stopping me from saying it's better is the battery issues.. The biggest 2s I can find can't handle the draw of an 8450 kv 380 can motor. They keep puffing up. Mini maxx will take a 3500 2s so I feel I can bash it for longer and harder sessions. A few more weeks and I'll get a better feel for them for the mini e revo will not have the same parts availability over the next 10 years as the mini max will
In my option Traxxas is worth the money every time can't wait for the next video here in Indiana it is getting to cold to run my own stuff for very long
New subscriber here. I have to say, I really enjoyed the vid of the Mini Maxx. I'm thinking of adding one to my fleet. The top speed's not great, but it has a lot of pep, and that's what I enjoy. Great job on the vid👍👍
Thank you sir. I think I'm gonna go ahead and install the Velineon and see what difference it makes on 2s. I do have some extra diff gears on hand in case things go south.
Went to my Hobby Town today and saw that same truck. Looked nice, but I’m an Arrma fanboy, so I came home with the black & gold Mojave Grom 223S BLX. Might be my new favorite in the Grom series now. Love your videos!
Someone else asked me if I was gonna try out that new Mojave Grom. Not sure if the stadium truck style would be a good fit for the track, but i might get one just to try it out.😆
@@TandTRC I have a short course flat track similar to your track in my yard. That’s where the Mojave’s shine. They like more of a groomed dirt or sand surface with some jumps mixed in. It’s a blast watching the Mojave just swing the rear end through the corners. The BLX Grom has the DSC as well.
I remember buying the stampede that was the cheaper non vxl model. I bought the velineon kit which made massive power improvement then changed gears for more speed and ended up replacing the drive shaft, axels, both front and rear diffs as well as putting on a set of proline belted tires because the stock parts could not handle the power I gave it! I’ve recently geared it back down simply because I made it so fast and with its height it was tough to control and keep on its wheels! But I had it doing 77mph now it’s around 47mph and a lot easier to control
i love trax but they're still up to their old tricks if you buy Bigfoot you get the inferior power beautiful body and worthless radio system. You'd be much better off buying the newest vxl stampede, but then you don't get the body. I might be jaded having been in the hobby for a long long time, but I feel like the stampede is just fast enough in VXL form, and is at least 10 miles an hour slower than my granite. I don't think the two cell version would be fun, unless you were new to the hobby.
I thought so. Before summer I will have that hat. I think I have every shirt they have made hahaha. Trying to win those trucks and cars gets me every time.
Now, my regular comment is, I love this. I just got back from my local hobbytown with mine! I got the black one. My battery is currently charging on my traxxas ez peak. I bought mine for what it is, a 2s mini basher. And I plan to leave it that way so I can enjoy it. I have no plans to modify it. If I get the 3s itch, I have a stampede VXL, and a 3s Arrma granite I can drive. Love the blue color. Enjoy it, man! Oooh update: My ez peak charger just finished charging the battery, it took 24 minutes out of the box new. When it’s drained all the way, guess we’ll see if it takes any longer to charge.
Tbh brother you see way this truck rips with velinion same thing with grom bl , it’s like you said but my truck is nasty sometimes with couple wood jumps ect . That next level I can brake most diffs , but no need to, slower is faster on the track to a point . That’s perfect track to do own testing . Try a sensor system after the velinion
Nice unboxing and first run of the Mini Maxx. I have TSM on my Rustler and Stampede and it is great especially for me just getting back into RC. Also, just thinking how about putting the Velineon 3S system in but, run it on the 2S battery packs only until all the upgrades come out for the Mini Maxx to handle 3S. That would probably give you the extra speed and hopefully not tear anything up. Great info and I like you like to keep it simple just getting back into RC. Be safe. 🏁🏁⭐️⭐️🏁🏁😎
Ahh true. I didn't even think about that. I bet you're right that it would be perfect for now on 2s with the Velineon. What do you think about that new Bigfoot body 4x4 Stampede they just announced? I'm thinking about ordering one.
@ Hey buddy! I would say do it. I liked the upgrades you did with yours. So, being a fan of Bigfoot go ahead and get it. I think you would like that as well. The only thing is I wish you could put the original body style on that new one. But, having two different bodies is also 😎. Happy Thanksgiving brother!! 🦃🍁

I would put the new motor esc and motor and run it at 2s. Seems like other people dont have a problem running it like that and its quick enough. Frankly i dont think the chassis is going to handle 3s well anyway. These short wheel bases become twitchy
It depends I think it takes next level bashing to break those gears ⚙️. Tomley right but most people don’t drive rcs that hard . Yea but the granite is perfect small truck imo. See how you have own track , I got unbelievable amount use out the truck even original motor bearing were changed a few times. It’s junk now I need to make a arrma parts lot or something you’re right about prices all in all . But stinks people don’t have enough and stretched over barrel now so many options no need to complain .

It is a known fact that the stock gears are pot metal type and not very good, I myself love Traxxas everyone is entitled to their own opinion I won't knock anyone. I know some say well you pay so much for these you should not have to upgrade anything, but that is 1/2 the fun to others. 100% agree. I think this is a sweet little truck and can't wait until they release the upgrades they have for it. All kinds of cool lights and aluminum goodies along with the performance stuff.
