Er...absolutely taught me something.Mines an FJ11 '85. Stored for 9 mnths. Now stutters on acceleration and under load. Been told its the emulsion tubes ( poor atomisation). Now I know what they are. Mine probably fit differently. Ta v much!!
No worries, I it seems to be a bt of a major job to change the emulsion tubes, but it is actualy realy easy. feel free to ask any questions if you get stuck.
Thanks for vid, I was able to open and clean it after this. It looked like good so don't think the problem was it. I own a Monster 600 but the carbs is the same. Can just start the bike shaking it on the front forks. This allows the float to move and let the fuel inside. Maybe low pressure fuel supply.....
Charlie! I saw how to change the emulsion tube, and I will change the same for myself!But the problem is in the adjustment of such bdst-38 carburetors! Can you tell me how to properly adjust these carburetors! After all, after installing the fuel tank, they are not available!
Bike is going well!! Not as thirsty as it used to be! I have tried the nickel plated kit before and they do work well. Definitley woth the few extra bob. Might as well use a harder wearing part.... keeps you riding for longer and spinning spanners less often
Are you aware that the throttle slide, where the jet needle sits, has a ledge that causes the needle to tilt, possibly leading to the wear these carbs are notorious for? Any thoughts? There is a Spanish guy with an XTZ on UA-cam who files the nylon washer down to compensate for the ridge and straighten the needle.
Very good! How are you getting on with your emulsion tubes? Im planning on buying a TDM 850 soon, and i hear that Factory Pro do nickel plated emulsion tubes that last significantly longer. (cost a bit extra though)
Hi Bart, make sure your fuel cap gasket is sealing correctly. the tank breathes through the cap so be sure it seals of well. there is a small hole at the front of the filler tube in the tank. that needs to be unblocked as well. hope you come right!
fixed it!!!! thanx for the tips cables were no problem runs 1:19 now used to be 1:10! show us how to sync the carbs the next time! good tip aint it haha
This video rules, How do i place back the gascables it was a real pain to get them of,so i can imagine the pain its gonna give to put them back on. thanx
The easiest way I have found for this, is to install the cables just before you mount them onto the intake rubbers. So slide the carbs into place, but dont push them onto the inlet rubbers. It gives you a bit of extra freeplay in moving the carbs around to get the cables into place.Once the cables are installed, press them onto the inlet rubbers and then install the airbox. This method works for me, it might not work for you so give it a go and see what works best for you. Best of luck!!
i just change this kit not working ok i the needle is difrend about the original and the main jet too my old main jet is nuber 75..about this kit i do know
