The assumption from the meet the press anchor that more time is good for a campaign is fundamentally, and inherently a narrative that isn't necessarily true. The simple fact that there is 3 to 4 months to get Kamala Harris's name, record, face and personality out to the American public who don't know her well and or who isn't comfortable to vote for her yet is a good amount of time to do that work. It's also not too much time where people could start to lose interest and get bored. I think that a 3-4 month window might be just the perfect amount of time before people start to lose interest. So I reject the idea that more time is necessarily the better option. In this case, And especially with the ties to the campaigning that's been done already with Biden, I think there's plenty of time to do the work that needs to be done.
There are some very important factors though that she needs to make a distinction from Joe Biden on. She needs to separate herself from him on the war in Israel because that is turning off a lot of voters and it is the number one issue of Democrats as well as the issue with the border. Now we know there was a major piece of legislation that was bipartisan and it was blocked by Trump, but the end result is that the border still a mess and she has to own that. So there are opportunities for her to separate herself from Biden especially on the war in Israel. She needs to come out against it She needs to come out against funding it, etc. That is HUGE

I think many of us Dems are glad Harris is at the top of the POTUS ticket. As much as we love Joe Biden, most Dems I know quietly felt Joe was just not up to the task of a 2nd term. I'm not a democrat but from the first weeks of the first Biden presidential campaign when she was chosen as his VP I was quite impressed by her grasp of the facts as well as her deportment. I saw her as presidential even as a VP way back then and hoped beyond hope that she would run. Well I finally got my wish. The choice as it stands now is either a libelous, arrogant loudmouth or a proper politician and former legal professional who has a clear head and her mind set on policy.
